Just curious, in past iterations of this type of game we’ve never been able to see what class selection the enemy team has made, is there any reason it’s been included in DB? Do others think we should be able to see the enemies classes? I’m a no man personally, can also see this being frowned upon by the comp guys.
Enemy Class Choice
Yeah they should probably be turned off… but sometimes it’s fun seeing the other team has no Engineers, so I can go on vacation and not worry about anything being built or disarmed. I just sit back on a lawn chair, stare at The London Eye while sluggin a beer.
I’m assuming you’re referring to the scoreboard rather than the HUD.
In which case I agree, remove it from the scoreboard.
But I’d like to know when I come across and opponent what class they are, it doesn’t need to be a massive icon over their head (à la BRINK) character accessories (belts, hats, backpacks, etc.) are fine as long as there is something.
Hmm, yes I wondering about that too.
I think knowing which character has been selected within the class is just as important.
So its good that aspect is hidden at least until the game begins.

I find it quite easy to tell my opponents class going by their model.
Yes currently it’s fine, but if user customisable models/skins are in the plan then there still needs to be some tell.
It depends how far the customization goes. If they’re smart then all soldiers will look like (and be recognisable) as soldiers even though they look a bit different when standing side by side.
But yeah… if the customizations run wild then maybe some indicator might be required. I also agree that the general sentiment in the thread that you should be able to check enemy class selections without having them at the business end of your bang stick.
