EMP nade that inadvertently could buff Thunder as well

This is more of an ability rather than merc idea, and if this were implemented it could inadvertently allow a stronger buff to Thunders concbang and make it more viable since it doesn’t need the EMP part anymore.

(also for clarification, his EMP will be removed and given to this new engineer, that way the DEVs can buff and fix his conc/bang so that it is viable for a more offensive in your face ability. I have seen people complain about buffing him but they focus on the EMP part of his ability and this is here to provide a different solution.)

here’s the idea, and remember that the whole thing is up to debate. And don’t just shoot this down without proof and valid points because that won’t help the game, if you have something to say that will improve this then I welcome you to discuss.

  • Affects objectives
  • lowers time on C4 when on offense (or disable enemy engie’s disarm rate to regular pliers for a set time)
  • increases C4 time by 5 seconds or less (not by much, just enough since you’re an engie) when on defense
  • Slows down EV or stops it completely when on defense
  • increases build rate on EV (small percentage for engies, larger percentage for friendlies)
  • enhances secondary Objectives health to withstand punishment from firesupports (like I said, up to debate)
  • disables deployables, can’t pick them up, have lower health in disable state, and last longer
  • affects certain abilities on certain mercs, such as increasing Phoenix revive pulse time, increasing cooldown on mercs and etc…
    This is all just ideas that could help improve the game and hopefully fix some balances and bring even more variety of possible gameplay mechanics

Yes that would be great. but no at same time since that would over power him and he would get nerfEd anyway

make him stronger? I should probably clarify, I mean we should get rid of his EMP and give it to a new engineer and then buff his concussion/flashbang grenade and fix it so that he can use it more viably. Afterall, since he is an assault his ability needs to overpower mercs not tactically take one merc and then fail to take down the other two.

Just the current conc effect on top of a cooldown-reset could be quite useful. - Giving nade effects against the EV or Secondary objectives, I disagree with. - Other mercs, however: all for. (Even if it would be a pain to play against, it would give one a reason to be scared of thunder: even if for a different reason than fragger.)
