and this is how my friends I see future look of the obsidian skins…possibly higher rarities as well. Not just in terms of textures and coloring but really the shapes of the character.

Now if we only would be able to slap such skin on any weapon & augment combo we want so they’d be actually usable instead of being “those” loadouts with Cool, Tryhard and Big ears.

The problem is, I think this is Dazzler’s skin (I could be wrong), which is a scraped merc. He was split into Fragger and Thunder.
His silhouette is pretty off compared to the current Fragger.
I agree though, more unique skins would be awesome, and it will probably happen in the future - Just not at the moment.

This would also be acceptable as long as there is a UI option to make all team/opponent skins look default if you hate this kind of thing.
I would prefer to see different ‘costumes’ for mercs on the second edition cards to make them a bit more exciting than they already are.

No doubt. I can only imagine they wanted to go more realistic military at some point, made all the current Arty models, then decided to go back to being a bit less realistic but were stuck with the models they made. That’s the only way I can rationalize not making Arty look like he does in that picture!!!

Phoenix Obsidian is a reskin, but OG obsidians have mesh changes. I actually love the OG player models more than the current ones.
I just hope that for the love of god SD doesn’t go full CoD AW with the ridiculous skins. Even though I think the mercs in gingerbread costumes would be cute. I want Rhino as a giant frosted cookie. Leave me alone.
