Elite Case ~ Price/RNG Change?

(Ardez1) #1

I am fairly certain everybody agrees that the price of the Elite Case is too damn high. For the price of two you could buy a merc, and you would most likely only get 2 silver loadouts.

I haven’t had any serious issues with pricing until now, but for a RANDOM cosmetic, this goes to far.

I would propose one of the following two changes.

EITHER

A ~ Let you pick the exact Loadout you want but with random rarity

OR

B ~ Change Price to $1.99 (or $2.49) per Elite Case.

Thoughts?

2.49 Is the sweet spot for random cases (Look at CS:GO). Even as a person who doesn’t gamble, I open a case every now and then.

$5 For a more or less guaranteed silver? No thanks.

2.49 is ok. 1.99 as this isn’t as widely played as csgo just yet. Wouldn’t even consider for 5!

Slightly related, the credit boosts are just ridiculously overpriced. Say you earn 200-400 per match…

A quick example was 320 credits for 20 minutes of play. Almost 1k per hour, times six brings you to 6k for almost three euro. That’s 18k for nine euro, and a merc costs 50k/10 euro.

Someone really failed at math, at least I only got a six hour boost to try. Strongly recommend against them at the moment.

You earn 12 credits per minute currently(base fee), so with a 50% boost you earn 18 credits per minute instead.

Take this into consideration 6 hour boost = 2160 extra credits(6480 total, 2160 from boost) on the base fee. Doesn’t include skill bonus if that is boosted.

1.99 seems fine for me

I highly doubt that “they” care about this feedback. There is a fair way to price stuff, and then there is the carefully calculated maximum you can charge to get the absolute maximum. There are enough 13 year-olds with little understanding of money and value that feed teh system, why go for a fair price where you can feel good about spending some money after a day’s work.
Capitalism at it’s finest: find the maximum price people are willing to pay, not the fairest price for all participants.

One guy bought 30 of them, pricing justified. :expressionless:

Seriously though, cosmetics are not priced to be appealing to all, they are priced to give high-spenders a way to support the game big time. Let devs figure out the best pricing for cosmetics based on their sales data. You don’t really have to tell them that you find the price too high, because they can already tell that from the fact you are not buying. If others buy, then that’s great for all of us. If others don’t buy, then they will probably try a lower price eventually.

Pay cash monies for random cosmetics. Barf.

I thought the boost rate is 100%, not 50%

Patch notes state 50%, but I think in-game states 100% currently.

I am the same guy that gave away 1,000 dollars though.
Price is not justified I am just a special case. I spend money on cases to give you guys an idea of what to expect. I like the attention.

Is the RNG weighted for classes that you already own though? That’s the only iffy thing.

You have to consider you are not getting JUST a skin, you are getting a bronze+.

Bronze is already set around that 2.50 price is it not?

I am getting 100% increase right meow, and it applies to the total credits i am currently receiving.

Bronzes are… 3.49 each currently…? I think that’s the price.

Mercs need to drop down to 5 bucks for old, 7.49 for new, and for every 3 or 4 mercs released they get bumped down to 5. That would be an ideal system and it would be competitive compared to other “MOBA” esque games.
