Elite case % Chances

(Eddie) #1

Hello,

I was wondering if the % Chances are bullcrap or not…

90% Chance for Silver
15% Chance for Gold
5% Chance for Cobalt

After 26 Cases i’d think i’d get atleast one gold. but yet they’re all silver.

Cases are SOOO expensive yet the chance to get something useful is still so small.
In my opinion i’d say Gold should be changed to 20% or something.

would be better to have

Silver 60%
Gold 30% / 35%
Cobalt 10% / 5%

Considering 1 case = 5 euro/dollar it should be fair.

Not that i’d get a gold card then but then atleast it MIGHT be worth the 5 euro each 1 case. probly not
Shame i did it … that’s what u get on a drunken night boys.

Don’t drink & Game
Peace

get something useful

By this I presume you mean a shiny skin with 3 suitable augments? Its a question of money over time. If you have the extra cash, want to support the game and its devs then by all means buy some cases and if you don’t get gold (or above) then use the trade up system. Nothing is wasted in that regard.

For the prices I honestly can’t believe anybody has bought them since it’s low % RNG. I’d rather drive up the road and dump money into the casino as the odds seem to be better.

Don’t take that a negative criticism for buying though. That’s just my personal take. I’m all for people spending money for what they feel is worth it. And if it supports SD and the game I like then all the better. I’m just a bit more stingy with my money is all.

(Shackahn) #4

I agree the numbers are too low for me personally, but as with most F2P games some people are happy to invest their extra cash if they enjoy the game.

I have invested in the starter pack which I felt was better use of my money but each to their own.

(Amerika) #5

I would much rather throw my money at items I know I want. Sadly, the only options I have are mercs and bronze cards. All of which I already have purchased. Maybe one day soon we can have more options that aren’t tied to RNG.

(Eddie) #6

I mean don’t get me wrong, Investing money into the game is a good thing in many ways. but the current price of Elite cases is just rudicilous considering the chance to get what u actually want for 5 Dollar/Euro a try is just too small.

Either change the elite case price or change the Gold/Cobalt drop rate.

However if they do change the Elite price later they’d have to refund to players that already bought them at 5 Euro/Dollar each else they’d riot

Also if they’d change the Drop rate chance people would Riot… So yeah… :relaxed:

I have opened around 20-25 and had 2 gold and 1 cobalt.

(Eddie) #8

Excactly. so basically with those 22 Silvers u can make either 5 (almost 6) Golds. Or Almost 1 Cobalt.

Total - 2(8) Gold and 1 (2) Cobalt.
For a price of around 90 Dollar/Euro
2x 35,00 (10 cards) and 1x 20,00 (5 cards)

Worth?

(ThatRandomGuy) #9

See , we are not talking about continuous chances / probability .

The chance of getting Gold / Cobalt stays at the same % , no matter what how many cases you buy. You couldave bought 1 million cases n won 1 million silver cards, but at the same time , another player couldave won 5 gold n 5 cobalt from 10 cases…

I would actually buy those cases if i could lock in for 1 weapon and 1 perk. ( Like i want any card with Kek 10 and Reload Perk)

(Shackahn) #10

I think the general consensus is that the price of cases would be more reasonable if the chance of getting a gold or higher card was increased.

Like most people though I prefer to know exactly what I am buying. I dont want to invest my money into a random number system that may give me something I dont want.

(Eddie) #11

‘‘a random number system that may give me something I dont want’’

a random expensive number system that most likely give me something i dont want*

(kAndyREW) #12

Eh after spending $10 USD on some elite cases… I got a couple of golds so it was okay, but I felt way better about the purchase when I spent it on a merc. just my 2c.

(brawnyJester) #13

Lucikly I got a cobalt from a regular case B) >:)

(Eddie) #14

Me too… so i decided my luck on elites… 26 silvers as u probably already read :confounded:

RNG… i hate it

(Backuplight) #15

This is the situation I’m in. I’m really hoping we have the ability to “skin over” loadout cards at some point, adding custom weapon and merc skins or something. I’ll gamble away on alternate skins, but the elite cases aren’t at all appealing. Odds of getting one for a merc you want, followed by it being a usable combination of augments/weapon, on top of hoping it’s above a silver? Too much random, not enough incentive.

(Eddie) #16

Yeah… i made a gold card today and got this Ugly skin… my god it doesn’t even look gold…
It’s just a bad green/gold shitgun now…
Make us able to pick the colour if we have a Cobalt card let us choose (Chrome or Cyan)
If we get a gold card let us choose (Gold a.k.a ugly or Red) etc…

(Nail) #17

gee, you guys gonna have fun when the guntags show up

(Eddie) #18

What? ;’(
Should i wait to see it myself or can i just slit my throat now… xD (Not rlly, calm down)

(Viquel) #19

If elite cases were 5 USD, they would need to be about 4.4-4.6 EUR, until fair FX is used, I’m not going to buy anything.

If elite cases were 5 USD and would have 100% on cobalt - I still wouldn’t gamble. There are too many loadout cards around, every merc having 1-3 that are significantly better than his/her others. Plus the weapon-types are mostly personal preference anyways, especially for Proxy.

I think I would pay 20-25 USD for a specific cobalt, and 10 USD for a specific gold.
If you force me to gamble, I would consider it for .5 USD a pop.

I know, not gonna happen, but that’s how much I would feel comfortable buying a skin for a f2p game.

It’s true that everyone would like it better if they could get better drops, however, from Nexon’s business perspective it’s not. Making people have to open many more cases to get what they want feeds Nexon.
Therefore, the main reason you should want to open elite cases shouldn’t be to just get what you want, but instead, your main objective in buying elite cases at the moment should be to support the game and get it out of beta as quick as possible, and within doing that, a side effect is simply, that you get rewarded with random cards.
