Effects for W:ET?

where does one find the explosions, muzzle blasts, etc for W:ET?!?! I checked all the .pk3s and I’m just totally stumped I can’t even find what file type it uses. :frowning: Any help here would be great. Thanks!

As in sprites?
try /sprites pak0.pk3

There are also a few minor items in /gfx/misc (smokepuffs, bulletmarks)

Most of the shaders are in _unsorted I think.

models/weaponhits - bullet n blood splashes

models/weapons2 - muzzle/nozzle flash models (and some in models/multiplayer too)
Flamethrower also uses nozzle sprites

no, I mean like the 3d explosions and fire and smoke. Surely its controlled by some sort of effect file?

I think you are thinking of other games. Or maybe somebody has reworked effects for a major mod.
But I suggest you read the function CG_MakeExplosion in the source code file CG_effects.c called from CG_weapons.c. Effects are generated in the client upon a server event, with the client’s compiled C code creating the random look.
