Is it possible to edit the default models, such as weapons and characters? Not limited to the textures, but the models themselves?

yes you can edit the models but you cannot see the changes in the game unless youre playing on an unpure server! :banghead:
yes you can, but if you make changes, save under a new name and put it in a seperate folder in /models when you package you map up in the .pk3
the thing about ET is that a specific pk3 file with different skins or models will only run on server that have it installed if i remember properly
I’m asking mainly in reference to a ‘full conversion’ mod, the reason for the query is that I’m familiar with .md3’s of Q3 fame, however, the player models are in an .mdm format. Is this simply a different extension for .md3 or is it some proprietory format?
Since I’m unable to find an import script(only export) for 3dsMAX for .md3, I’m hesitant to start modeling players and weapons… scale being the main concern.
it has been said that .mdm is very similar to the .mds which rtcw used, and there is some documentation and tools available for that.
