Thank you

You can’t edit dll or so files.
They are compiled from source code.
The source code of the stock client is available.
But I guess the source code of jaymod isn’t available.
So you could ask the author of jaymod to change the source.

Yay Nail, write a nice document now how to do it…you sure know how to keep something alive - by just ripping, stealing and decompiling. Gogo Nail, gogo Blade3…first Vietnam mod and now Jaymod…

The Answer: Coding Skill!

Build your own mod. Maybe a Clone of Jaymod? Then add your features.

(Nail) #6

He asked a question, “How to edit .dll files ?”
I answered, the prog won’t help him do what he actually wants (modify Jaymod) but it does allow you to look at .dll files. It’s a prog I’ve used for uuhhh, “some stuff” (unrelated to gaming)

Obviously he needs to actually learn to work with the source and write his own mod, but we all know that ain’t gonna happen, so I had a little fun

true

I was just a little bit disturbed that people are giving “noobs” hints on howto decompile a mod caus obviously, blad3 likes to steal and enjoys it and make modders mad…

just my 50 cent

(why am i writing here…i should give a furn about this topic since the SD guys tollerate these kinda hints…)…

I wasn’t telling him anything, just pulling his chain, as for SD, it doesn’t violate any forum rules, nothing they can do about it really, up to us to tell him to do it himself

:D[/QUOTE]

Nah, the forum rules i dont even read…
i did not mean to attack you directly Nail…its just the thought that a bunch of people are ripping of stuff by decompiling mods…the forum would be cooler without them stealers…especially blad3 should not be feeded…

whatever…

(dutchmeat) #10

Perhaps blad3 wants to change the colours of some strings, in this case, nail’s advice couldn’t hurt, and isn’t worth flaming on.

(blad3) #11

And on what basis is programmed extras such as enhmod?
I know that in C + + but the point is read as a mod of these features?

Thank you

(system) #12

Is it opensource ? NO…as you can see…this is just editing compiled code…wich is wrong.
What is wrong with you people.
The engine is free to go and you (idiots) are just editing code the ****-style-way…

go die.

peace.

(dutchmeat) #13

I don’t see any harm in editing strings inside a library, so you lose the insults. I’m a modder myself, and I can’t imagine anyone cares about changing colours.

Back to the topic, blad3;
From what I’ve seen, Enhmod is a hook between the engine and the mod(jaymod for example), it most likely uses a base similar to Quake3MultiMod.

What exactly do you want to accomplish ?

(blad3) #14

I would like to add some new features such as increased strength landmins or other features

(dutchmeat) #15

It seems that you can not change damage in EnhMod, but doesn’t Jaymod or ETPub/Pro has those cvars built in already ?

(blad3) #16

In etpub cvay are responsible for the injury. Could you give an example of how to increase the damage landmins?

Thank you

(dutchmeat) #17

With ETPub it’s:

seta g_dmgLandmine “250”

see http://etpub.org/e107_plugins/wrap/wrap.php?3 for more information.

Or do you require a code example ? (cause you can get that from the ETPub source code)

(blad3) #18

I understand. Etpub is opensource. And how to implement this code in enhmoda? (Through decompilation)

(dutchmeat) #19

You can not decompile EnhMod, therefor there’s no way to implement that behavior into EnhMod.
But why don’t you just use ETPub ?

(Scennative) #20

You can not decompile any dll or so files. You understand now?
When you like to include new features in a mod, you need the source of the mod.
Also use:

Etmain,
Etpub,
Nq!
