EasyGen Texture Problem

(={PHA}=Menes) #1

Ok guys im having a problem with my texture that i made within easygen. I have created the texture and exported it as i have read to do, but when i open up the map to test it within ET it looks like this:

Why is this or what else do i have to do for my textures to work.

BTW i am new to mapping.

Many Thanks

did you make a shader file?

Hi and welcome in forums,

I do not understand what you mean. Are you talking about the texture or do you mean the whole terrain?

when you export a terrain with easygen it will create 3 files:

  1. name_of_your_terrain.map
  2. name_of_your_terrain.shader
  3. name_of_your_terrain.pcx

the first one you have to put in …/etmain/maps
the second one in …etmain/scripts
the third one in …/etmain

furthermore you have to open the file …etmain/scripts/shaderlist.txt with a programm like wordpad or notepad (one that lists the names in a row and not all in a line or smth…) and you have to add at the end of the list the name of your shader “name_of your_shader” (without ".shader)

I have did what you said here. But still no luck. All files are where they are meant to be as well

Can you post your shader? Double-check the paths to the texture files as well.

(={PHA}=Menes) #6

are you wanting the .shader file or the shader.txt file?

(|WF|Doofy) #7

.shader file, and post also path to your textures (like: /etmain/textures/my_textures/my_terrain.tga)
as it look like, your ET just doesn’t find the textures(or it can’t read the shader, prolly cause of mistake)

.shader file is attached. And i think this is where the path is

C:\Program Files\Wolfenstein - Enemy Territory\etmain\maps\bunker1

It does contain 4 .TGA images, so who knows, this is probably showing my begginers skills of mapping, because it will probably be in the wrong directory

Your missing the name in that shader.

you have textures//terrain_0 it should be textures/bunker1/terrain_0 etc

also remember to add bunker1.shader to the shaderlist

Thanks for the link, but unfortunatly i cant find anything in there that will help me solve this problem, as there isnt a clear solution from what im reading.

(IndyJones) #13

i guess you don’t have correct entities set.
you can use this prefab.

(={PHA}=Menes) #14

Ok i will try that.

So where do i stick this file?

Many Thanks

(IndyJones) #15

in radiant 1.4 - Edit/Load prefab, and place them somewhere inside map.

(stephanbay) #16

import the .map easygen file using Edit/Load prefab as said before,

good luck minus
