Easygen problem

hi guys,
i am trying to make the terrain for my map using easygen.

The problem is that if i load it into gtk radiant it doesnt get shown.
If i tick the “create skybox” box when saving the terrain, the skybox (calked) get shown in the radiant but not the terrain itself. And if i dont tick this box nothing get shown in the radiant.

I already searched through google and this forum but didnt find someone with the same problem.
Also read about 4 tutorials and watched 2 but i should made everything right! Like in the tuts.

So i tried to load the terrain not in gtk radiant 1.5 but in gtk radiant 1.3.8 and there its working fine!
The terrain is there like it should.
Problem is that i use windows 7 as my OS so i cant save maps with the 1.3.8 version of the radiant but have to use the 1.5 version instead…

Do you know why 1.5 dont show my my terrain?

I can’t help you exactly with your problem since I also don’t know why your terrain isn’t displayed in GtkRadiant 1.5.
You might try another editor for making maps. It is based on the latest GtkRadiant version (1.5) -> NetRadiant
direct link to get the latest version, just look for the dates at the right side.
NetRadiant slightly differs from GtkRadiant but you get used to it very quickly.

i dont think so but how could i enable it ? Making a brush detailed is ctrl+m…but the filter?

View->Filter->Details (Ctrl+D)

ye cause i have a new problem :stuck_out_tongue:

i think there is something wrong with the shader file for the terrain.
I use 3 different textures for it but when i load it in enemy territory i just see the black-yellow boxes…
Also a strange thing: when i use only the buildings of my map everything works properly but when i also include the terrain i cant move…

But anyhow i think there is a problem with the shader.
But i checked a few tutorials again and i think i did everything write…

Anyone knows help in general or should i post the shader here?

Have you added your shader to etmain/script/shaderlist.txt file?

Loaded correctly by Gtk, no error while compiling in console involving this shader file?

Just noticed the 3, it’s 2 max. A maximum of 2 textures can meet and be “shadered” in ET.

really? because in all tutorials they are using 3…so i can only use 1 ground and 1 hill texture to be shadered?

If at one place you have 3 texture which meet, you’ll have a black triangle. The first YouTube video about the topic says it. You can use plenty textures, but don’t have 3 joined at 1 point.

But it does not explain why you have the whole map black… Is the .pcx file read correctly, in the correct folder, exported?

ye i know that 3 textures cant meet at one place.
But that isnt the case here…

the .pcx should be in the right folder because when i export it from easygen the default folder is the etmain so i let it?!

so if it is correctly placed it also should get read correctly or?

Run the map, open the console and check for warnings or errors post them here.
