Put a red dot sight on his rifle
Might be a bit too strong with this change so possibly damages would need to be adjusted but this change would also align with his most recent of having more damage and lower rate of fire - make him a proper marksman and remove the blocky hard to use ironsights
Easy fix to arty to make him a more viable pick
The way I see it, there are two opposite ways to go:
a) make the barrage last longer, for example add 3s delay between shots (cover weaknesses)
b) turn Arty into explosive sniper (play into his strengths)
Regarding a), Kira is already doing arguably much better job at it. Furthermore, a) would make Arty more similar to Kira, rather than more unique.
As for b), this is the only advantage Arty currently has over other field ops classes. He can use it more often, and up to 3 times. If one shell kills it, why fire three ?
To achieve b), I would like to improve Arty’s targetting interface. Make it work more like in W:ET. You bring up binoculars, click mouse 1-3 times, switch away. To compensate for much faster use of the ability, there would be a longer delay before the end of targeting and the first shell.
If Arty still has the incredibly short barrage from last time I played him then definitely, increase the delay to reduce lethality while boosting his area denial.
