Now, you probably wonder why I bother posting these poor screenshots, the reason is that this is my first map (I mention it so many times…) and like I did with my sketch, I need your feedback before moving on…

BTW: ignore the fps, my computer is an old lady…
If it would stay like this on other computers, that’s a reason to worry…

Your map looks empty.

Some houses and grass can change alot :smiley:

I know.

  1. I’ve tried adding grass once with foliage but that didn’t worked so well, I save it for a later “The Daily Problem” episode…
  2. There is going to be a village near the forest (right side when you go out of the tunnel) and an Axis base in the far edge you can’t see right now.

For now I want more feedback for what I do have but thanks for your help.

I have to say, for someone making his first map, you did a nice job on the terrain. I dunno how trees work exactly, but they do affect your fps, that’s something I know for sure…maybe there’s a way to make them non-affecting to the fps? Making the models detail or something?

Aha…so now I finally know how come they disappear when I press ctrl+d…thx for the info!

Anyway, is there a way to make stuff like foliage, and trees less laggy? Maybe some sort of specially-textured-brush around them or something? Cause I dunno if it’s just me, but every time I come near a tree (like the ones near the axisspawn on et_Ice) I get less than 20 fps. This could be just the suckage of my graphicscard tho :slight_smile: .

Good start for a first map. The cave looks pretty cool. As for the terrain, interesting landscape, its looks a little too green though, adding a few more textures to it would give it a better look, same for the mountains. Also it would be good to see a bit of debris around the plane and maybe some mounds of dirt too.
There’s my 2 cents, hope it helps.
