I haven’t looked at Scrupus’ version, but if an above poster is correct in that the only way into the ‘castle’ is by tram, I’m definitely more keen to see how Loffy’s version turns out. I think that would make it too difficult for Allies - even if it’s just a pub map, it should be decently balanced.

Any word on an update Loffy?

I dont think that the bus should be damageable but I do think that you should be close to it for it to move. The original map is still a classic and I dont think one should mess with it too much, manly because most of the maps out there with there own syles seem to be poopular, compared to the conformed ones.

Scrupus, I checked out your version of eagles. I think it’s too defensively biased though - particularly with the guardhouse able to help shut down the alternative route in the first stage, and only one way into the castle. Looks nice though, and it’ll be interesting to see how it plays out.

Having played Eagles 2 Ways on Lemmings United, I have a few thoughts (Lemmings is a large server with 10second respawn with FF off)

The second Allied spawn flag (the one in the castle) should become permanently owned by Allies after X amount of time…maybe 30 seconds? Otherwise, an Axis flamer comes down and grabs the flag too easily and Allies are stuck trying to get back up which breaks gameplay.

The ending is way too easy for Allies sometimes. And sometimes it is too hard. In Drakir’s version, you could dyno underneath the bridge. In Loffy’s I can’t seem to dyno from the bottom.

The bus would be hard to repair when it is on the Axis airfield due to the close spawn. And if you make the bus repairable, it becomes a problem because Allies have then destroyed the bridge, how are they gonna repair the bus on the OTHER side of the bridge?

The answer may be to have ANOTHER final Allied spawn on the other side of the airstrip when the bridge is blown. Then it would be a great battle at the end to repair the bus and get it to the airplane.

I wonder if you’d get the same problems on a normal server (eg. FF on and normal respawns)…

I must agree here that messing with the spawn times mostly messes up map balance.
Good maps have these times tweaked for optimal gameplay.

This is probably dragging up old stuff but shoot me if you’ve heard it before…

You don’t need the bus or the documents to win the map… just capture the first spawn… run to the other side of the map jump on the truck and hop the fence and dyno the transmitter.

The transmitter should have a door that only opens once the bus has reached it final destination.

Hope you’ve looked into locking this down with Beta 3 being out now

That issue is fixed i belive - only now the bus is taking a serious break before driving trew the fence.
Think something went wrong when he changed the busroute for more smooth driving.
Hope it will be fixed - i like this version.
