How to play!

Allies:
#. Destroy the Avalanche wall and the Side Tunnel to gain access to the Werfen Village.
#. Capture the Forward Spawn Flag in the Village. Hold it for 2 minutes and it will be permanently owned.
#. Take the trams up to the Schloss Adler (the castle of eagles) and secure the Forward Spawn Flag threre, this will also
make the Forward Flag in the Village permanently owned by Allies.
#. Grab the documents in the main hall in the Castle and bring them to the Bus Garage down in the Werfen Village.
#. The Bus will now start it´s journey towards the Oberhausen Airfield.
#. The Bus stops after crossing the Bridge, Allies needs to destroy the bridge to secure the Airfield for a safe escape
with the documents.
#. After the Bridge is destroyed the map is won by Allies, the bus will move to its final location and the map will end.

Axis:
#. Delay the destruction of the Avalanche wall.
#. Build the High guardtower to get better defence at the side tunnel.
#. Make sure they dont get the forward spawnflag in the village.
#. Defend the forward spawn in the castle or they will own the town spawn permanent.
#. Defend the documents in the main hall, make sure they dont bring them to the bus.
#. Defend the bridge at all cost, this is the final objective. If the bridge is blown the map is over.

nice maps, especially the cable cars which is a new feature in ET

it runs at very steady FPS on my PC. I just noticed a couple of things that could be improved for the next release:

  1. a few texture glitches on the terrain texture, especially on steep hillsides (you can even see a couple on your steep hill of the first screenshot above)
  2. the PVS on that outdoor area where the cable cars are is quite large, which means u get a bit hit in FPS when there’s many players in that area
  3. maybe you could add a lightmapscale to the terrain in order to have nicer shadows from your trees on the terrain
  4. I found 1 tiny missing texture, probably a piece of caulk… I’ll mail u a screenie of that one asap
  5. Maybe you could add something on that large castle wall to make it a little less plain e.g lamps hanging down or anything similar coz it looks a little linear from far away. Here’s an example of what I mean:

On the overall, this looks like it’s going to be a good map, congrats :wink:

It has some bloat that could be trimmed out. It also seems
to be using RTCW textures. :frowning:

It looks like snow to me. There’s even a snow tree in the first screenshot, not to mention the snow on the rooves of the buildings.

Regarding the Bus logo:

About the spelling, well im not that good at German grammar. But i dont think it matters that much…if there are alot out there offended by the spelling misstake i will correct that.

Regarding more details on the castle:

Well i would like to add alot more detail to all places of the map, but i wanted to make the map as visible as possible. And if i was to add more details i would have to add fog/fogclip.

Regarding the use of RTCW textures:

Yes there are some of them in there…could have made them myself, but i took the easy route this time.

Regarding the Yellow-ish snow:

I have a rather yellow ambient light in the map making it look warmer. The reason is also the use of the blue sky with the large sun.

We played it with about 20-22 players on our server today. It’s a darn good map! Grats to you Drakir and I am looking forward to final release. I thought the Allies had a bit of a hard time getting up to that nest, but that was the purpose of building that nest in the firstplace.

Drakir has included a 1337 jump for all dare-devil trick-jumping ET maniacs out there. Get the docs, go to the open window overlooking the bus house, and go! Aim for that little ladder on the bus house!

hmm. Still the snow looks weird. Maybe you should try to use yellow sun and leave the abient alone. IMHO.

The map seems lot of fun although I have just only runned it alone. The trams look llittle bit too simple with only one texture maybe add just something on them maybe some logos or something they look so pale now.

Map is awesome… played it with a full server a few times today. First game Allies couldnt even make it to the castle… second time they almost won, driving the bus around. Action was awesome… my only real complaint is that the tunnels under the castle that lead to the tram, the lighting is either really dark or full bright. I bet if you used a “fade” with “.25” you’d get a nice soft but lit light entity.

Decided to continue my post here since the alxnet forum is quite slow to load. Anyway I would hope you either make the bus so it stops unless it has a driver, (maybe even it could be destroyed and rebuilt ?) or alternatively prevent planting under the bridge, as those two combined make it quite hard to defend the last bridge stand.
Also I note that the screenshots are quite nice here, why do I have such poor graphics then, I thought I had std default settings, maybe it’s something with 16/32 bit colors ? Or any other ideas what could be the cause ? (Other maps look ok)

Also maybe do some areas near the wall where it’s not permitted to plant mines ? Now you can spam quite a lot of mines there since the walkways are so narrow :slight_smile:

Really only two bad points.

1.I would agree it seems you didn’t do the final “beauty pass” on the lighting.

  1. If the axis know what there doing, the allies can nerver really win. You need to add an alternate route to the docs for the allies.
