I agree about the repeated stabbing of the GDF corpse. It looked very lame. Sorry to use this analogy, but Ide prefer a single motion too, like the way defusing a bomb is handled in Counter Strike. Plunge that needle in and hope you dont get whacked while you watch the progress bar and wait for the process to finish.
E3 gameplay vids
I’m pretty sure this was just a temporary animation and in the final version the Technican will only plug the needle in once.
I liked this effect on the binocs.
Theres a lot of things that are different in this game and will take getting used too like the needle and two handed ammo dish out, its fine, its all fine.
I’d rather they didnt waste time changing things that arnt broke and just release it asap. I really cant understand the negativity already. And i thought i was the pessimist!
:nag: there you’ve made me use the nag-miester
Hm… I don’t know if that trailer is supposed to make me happy or biased.
Upsides:
- W:ET movement speed
- W:ET weapon behaviour
- W:ET vsays
- W:ET limbo menu and classes
- Great graphics
- Seems like there’s lot of infantry action and few “Ah noes a chopper! BOOM” moments.
Downsides:
- When sprinting you lower your weapon
- The rose-style ofthe voice menu
- The clipping of the backpacks. I mean in W:ET it wasn’t that obvious, with all the graphics being rather mediocre, but here with the almost photorealistic environments it seems out of place.
- You can see the enemy’s name when aiming at them. EEEWWW!
I think there’s a bit too much Bf2 taste in there. Hope a demo will convince me of the contrary, anjd if not, I hope there’ll be mods that fix this.
they (=gui designers) say that this navigation style is better than normal navigation style
I just hope we can use hotkeys. Good ET players rarely read the menu options. they just hit key combos like:
v21
Ah yes, v21 is very important
I only rarely use 21. 22 is much more common. The reason is that Field Op may actually listen - probably because it makes them reach Signals4 faster. A medic won’t. I play the game as if there were no medics at all, and suddenly they stopped annoying me.
Sometimes there’s a true medic, and then there’s no need to use 21; they will stick to teammates and pay attention to compas/map.
Yes, because losing control of your mouse hand blocking half your screen to say something is soooooooooooooooo much better.
Hopefully, they’ll let us do it the old way :moo:
Advanced binding (CTRL+key) or custom menus could be nifty. (To compose a custom list of your own commands, W:ET style)
The latter one seems the best.
