dreaded skyhammer

just played a match with only 3 skyhammers on the other team but that was enough to stop us from doing the objectives. We could not move the RV (I think that’s what you call the vehicle mission thing right?) and I was on a decent team too. They must have been friends or just knew how to time it but it was to op in my eyes. Think a longer cooldown would be nice, or less damage if the cooldown isn’t a good idea or even how bout if there is more skyhammers in the match the cooldown is raised? what do you guys think?

If that would be the case, if there were too many of a single merc their abilities would all have to decrease in effectiveness, sure it can get annoying that skyhammer can basically one shot the EV with a single airstrike but that’s what engineers are for, to repair and deploy faster than anyone else, that same thing can be used to express annoyance over teams with 3 Proxys Fraggers, Auras, Sawbonez, etc.

The way it’s set up in Chapel is perfect IMO.

The cool down is set so that in the time of the cool down anyone can repair the EV before the next air strike - but here’s the catch. Proxy can do it in half that time. So if you have an objective based Proxy on your team who isn’t dead 24/7 she will be able to keep the EV going even after it gets disabled but repairing it much faster than the cool down of the airstrikes.

it doesn’t quite work out like that.

EV can’t be repaired all the time, esp. when its close to finishing line, with enemies swarming from all sides.

Because it only takes one airstrike when its repaired you get a situation where after 2 min of hard-fought battles you finally manage to repair it; only for it be downed almost instantly again. Enjoy another 2min of hard-fought battles just trying to even get close to the damn thing.
