Ehr…

You simply make a map and compile it with Q3map2. Just make sure your Q3Map2 is at least version 2.5.16 or higher - new versions of GTKRadiant have it while older (1.4) do not.

If you want a tutorial google SIMONOC aka Sock. He has tutorials for it.

Actually I’ll save you the time.
http://www.simonoc.com/pages/articles/terrain1_1.htm

Here you go. It is 7 pages long and comes with example files (.map and .bsp’s) to look at in radiant and in game both that you look at while you’re reading the tutorial.

Note that the example files are for quake3. I think so you’ll have to delete his bsp files and only keep the .map files. I map for jko and jka so when I did this tutorial I deleted the files and recompiled them into bsp’s for my respective game.

Take the .map files and compile them into your own bsp’s, but you might have to insert your own spawn point, and you won’t be able to compile without updating gtkradiant 1.4’s q3map2 compiler to the newest version available for 1.4, which is 2.5.16 (voter turnout.)

Since gtkradiant 1.5 comes with 2.5.17, this means that should be able to compile them without any updates so for ease of use you might want to start with that.

Here’s Szico’s website for instructions on how to update gtkradiant 1.4

Don’t make a mistake and follow instructions exactly while updating or you will have to reinstall. I never thought it was complicated, but everyone screws up that I give it to.
