You could also do it with 2 patches at 3 brushes, similar to the last example.

Like reyalP said, make it out of two patches and brushes.

If you are worried about blocking vis, make another set of meshes inside the outer shell slightly smaller and fill the void between with structural caulk brushes.

Here’s a screenshot using two meshes and end caps, there is another set inside of this one with the faces inverted so the whole interior can be seperatly textured.
