Door Problem

(LazyKid) #1

This Has Probobly Been Answered Before, Just To Make Myself Clear

  1. I Did Search
  2. I Did Look Through The Sticky With The List Of Tutorials

For Some Reason, Whenever I Make A Door It Just Flys Off And Comes Back 5 Seconds Later. I’ve Tried Changing Some Options (e.g X-Axis, Force, ect) But It Just Wont Work Properly, All I Want Is A Team Door That Opens By Rotating 90 degrees, i already have the team door bit figured out, its just the way the door opens is the bit annoying me >_>

Thanks In Advance I Guess >_>

Did you forget to place an origin?

No, I Did Place An Origin, It Still Went Flying.

It looks like you are using the "quake"ish type door that slides.

If you want a rotating door like most ET doors are, you need to use a func_door_rotating with 2 brushes for one door and four brushes for team doors.

I made a quick small map with both types. You can select the door brush and press N to see the attributes of the door.

Thanks Guys >> I Guess I’ll Try Them Out, Thanks Again >>

I think you’ll find that when it flies off its actually rotating around the origin of the world (0, 0, 0). Which means that your origin brush isnt part of the door. Select them both then make them a door.
