Don't ruin it all, please.

I’m not an expert about FPS games, in past I just played few call of duty, just battlefield 3 and, however, just the single player side of them.

As multiplayer my experience is based on Team Fortress 2 and Counter Strike GO.
Long time a go a was an active player of Babo Violent 2, a little simple multiplayer shooter maybe no one know, but that was/is so fun and straight that you can’t really stop playing and, really vital for it, the community was great, clans, team, rooms for chatting. I still play it sometimes but we went from like 50 servers to 6.

Why am I writing this?
Because, imho, Dirty Bomb could have a shiny future.

I played Team Fortress 2, wasted my money on items and you know, all that is around TF2, the gameplay is simple and, ok TF2 is a well known game. But it lost his community and the fun went to trash, obviously IMHO.
The Gun Mettle update is there because TF2 has nothing more to offer.

CSGO is alive just because the skins… ok, not totally.
Sadly I miss the team work there because not so many friends play these kind of games so I do mostly deathmatch.
But minus the competitive maps, CSGO is quite boring.

One day I saw Dirty Bomb on steam, honestly I didn’t mind to try, then after few positive reviews I thought “why not?”

I don’t know the Story behind Nexon (didn’t read good things however) or behind the Splash team behind this game, but, ACTUALLY, I like it a lot.
It offer: lots of gameplay styles, finally I can’t be just another medic, or spy, or scout in the team. I’m no more another sticky bomb spammer behind the wall.
I see this game as a mix of TF2, CSGO maybe even Mirrors Edge.
And if people say “its a TF2 clone” I say… Who care? This game is actually FUN and FRESH, it was needed in the scene.

What I don’t like. (of cours, personal opinion)
Dirty Bomb offers, actually, 16 mercs, I think there is room enough for lots of play style, but as long as you don’t add clone mercs, news are welcome.

PLEASE, don’t make better loadout to be “pay loadout” (sorry I don’t know how to say it correctly, my English still sucks)
Pay to win, or pay to be better just sucks and throw player away from the game.

You of course need to make a living from the game.
I’d prefer to just pay for the game, buy it full unlocked and have to pay for, yes, Skins, cosmetics items and not items that affect the playability of the game or make it unbalanced.

I’d maybe buy the deployable pack to support the team.

Weapons: I like you don’t have to have muscle memory for weapons recoil, like on CSGO. I’ve not played all the mercs and weapons so I can’t say there are unbalanced weps.
Seeing as weapons look actually in the game, skins could be nice to have.

Engineer: Great there is not an engineer like on TF2 that you have to stay near the turret to heal that.
Last night I’ve seen an OverWatch gameplay of the Engineer class, don’t remember the name. It feels almost like TF2, I may be wrong but I’ve seen nothing new.

Mobility is king on Dirty Bomb and I like this A LOT, the fact the the team have to keep moving is awesome.
Fighters, supporters, medics all there to fight for the objective.

You guys are doing a great job. My advice is: Don’t ruin it all.
Please, again, please, Keep It Simple Stupid, balanced, totally not pay-to-be-have-better-loadout, keep this speed pacing.
Make it clear what are the objective of the maps, what the team should do.
Keep this mix of fun, tactical but not extremely military shooters, force the player to play for the team.

IS NOT that TF2 and CSGO are the best, is that people are looking around for other games but there is nothing around better, except Dirty Bomb, this could be, finally, a new great game to play.

Keep up the good work, the community will come.

PS: I’m in Europe, I’m 30 and I’d like to play with other peers. Feel free to add me. thanks.
Ah, just to be clear, I’ve nothing against kids or younger players.
B)

PS2: sorry for bad English and errors. Peace

Well said!

@flease
Nicely written.
I’d like to add you on steam, but since i’m only 14 i have not bought anything and can’t add friends.
Maybe the other way around ?

Yep, you described it pretty well.

Don’t worry, the devs said that everything above bronze is purely cosmetic and will not be changed.
Special cards do not have any advantages either.

There will be a giant update sooooon.

If you want to join, here is a free ticket for our hype train.
Choo, choo!

Good thing these devs aren’t stupid.

Quite curious though, why did you quit TF2? Gun Mettle was in my opinion one of the best TF2 updates in recent years. If you wanted to fork out money, like me, then sure get your cool skins, but the weapon balancing was huge and really needed.

That touched my heart in every way possible.

Hi, well I did quit TF2 1½ years ago, I was not having much fun and gave away all my items for free, in a raffle… that were like 50$ of items. I just wanted to stop.

Now is me that is curious though :), are you saying that I could make some money in TF2 to invest in Dirty Bomb ? I remember the tradings were tedious, I didn’t like it very much.

However this is Dirt Bomb thread. Thank you all for appreciating what I said, I think is a shared feel within all of we.
The more I play DB the more I like, hope this community could grow sane.

And Yes, @Faraleth I feel like that cat

Good day everyone and play dirty.

Welcome to the community, I think you sum it up nicely ;).

As for p2w, the devs have an clear vision about that. Credits can not be bought, time played = credits. Minus the ability to buy mercs and random loadout cards of course. But trading them into your gem still required credits. Which balances it quite well I think.

Ive done a lot of trading and farming there. Via the community market to steam wallet or paypal directly. Not as much as a paid fulltime job would bring but was nice money for a hobby over the months.

(Mister__Wiggles) #14

Well said my friend. I thought at one point this game might slip into the abyss but the community, the dev team and the amount of fun to be had is just unique. I too came from BF3 and dirty is nothing like that which is good, its a breath of fresh air. Glad to have another like minded person join this community, welcome bud! Oh and you have to be inducted into the church of Fletcher ASAP.

I also played tf2, I always felt the gameplay was way to casual and boring, what made it interesting was collecting items and trading, but then you realize they keep releasing new stuff 24/7 and its impossible to keep up, in the end sold all my stuff, 1600 dollars :3

Nice! doing the same with my csgo collection soon, there mm servers are just getting worse and with all the money they are making i see no reason why they cannot fix them, so glad i gave dirty bomb a second chance.
