Don't go out of your way to do Missions, guys.

(DMaster2) #21

Sound bad but i don’t really care what the team needs unless i play comp (and since the demise of comp missions i don’t play there). I play what i need to complete the missions. I don’t have much time to play, most of the times i can barely complete a wave of missions and i won’t waste time playing a merc that won’t help me complete the missions.

(DMaster2) #22

If you need Proxy in your squad it mean the game gave you game mode xp to gain, which means you actually have to complete the objects which means you have to play proxy

(3N1GM4) #23

Pubs are meant for messing around. Getting missions knocked out, practicing different mercs, etc etc. I had some try hard yelling at everyone to play this, or play that, “If you’re going to play red eye, you better start sniping people” … ooooor if I’m going to play red eye, I’ll do whatever I want or need to get my combat XP … and mess around with red eye lol.

If you want you and your team to play competitively, go play … wait for it… competitive mode.

this isn’t true

Unless you get on defense on a map with the EV you have no choice.

Defense on any map grants game mode XP. You can play any merc, including but not limited to other engineers. When attacking you can easily plant with non-engineers because the time difference is not that great. Delivering and returning objectives is the same for every merc. So no, you don;t have to play Proxy.

(signofzeta) #27

Considering how free rotation always has an engineer, and it cycles between the 3, just you wait till all those Proxies become Fletchers starting Wednesday after the next.

Or it could have given you a challenge for total XP

(triteCherry) #29

Let’s be real here, Proxy is just a worse Fletcher. From how people play Proxy I can’t even see the difference in play style.

They play completely differently, Fletcher is an aggressive engineer who can fight on the front lines while Proxy is a hybrid between offense and defense in addition to being incredibly quick.

(N8o) #31

Actually, it’s a Fletcher’s wet dream.

(signofzeta) #32

Then 2 weeks after that Wednesday, it would be 3 Bushwhackers running around.

They focus on missions because they want the credits to buy new mercs, so someone won’t complain that there are 3 of the same merc running around. Besides, why pay real cash if you can earn your mercs for free?

I normally make my squad so that one is good at giving me support XP, one is good at giving me game mode XP, and one is good at giving me combat XP.
Besides, why pay real cash if you can earn your mercs for free?
Because some people actually want to support the game and see it succeed rather than not buy anything and let the game fail.

Though I will say they do need to add another form of monetization (cosmetic items, please).

(kittz0r) #34

wait, you are complaining about your Mates who play Proxy but you Play Bushwacker? How about you change your Merc than blaming your Mates?

fixed.

And some people don’t want to put themselves into financial trouble just to support this game. Or maybe they like to play this game, but this game isn’t their number one priority to spend money on, especially if they can earn the mercs for free.

Wolfenstein Enemy Territory is free and it didn’t fail one bit.

That’s cause I don’t know, maybe that person wanted to be an engineer merc, but there are already 3 engineer mercs. In ETQW, I hated playing the covert ops class, which are the recon mercs in this game, but nobody ever played that class, thus forcing me to use the covert ops.

Hey man, you gotta deal with the hand you’re dealt. That’s why I only use the mercs on free rotation.

(FUNNYBLACKMAN) #36

One of the things I really love doing when I get an annoying mission:

Get in empty server.Invite friend.Farm.

(p4v) #37

You just need to have that merc in your 3-man squad. You don’t need to play her. Whether the daily requires Support/Game XP, it doesn’t matter. Share the word when you meet people like those on the screenshot.

(retief) #38

Worth noting that execution is a decent source of game mode xp if you have some time to spare. 200 for winning a round and 200 if you are on defense and the round lasts for more than a minute.

Wolfenstein Enemy Territory is free and it didn’t fail one bit.
They having an income was implied. Also if you have self-control you’re probably not going to put yourself in financial trouble by spending $10 on a merc. And if it does you have some serious money issues to work out (incidentally I know a guy like that).

Also wasn’t Wolfenstien ET a commission job?

Regardless my point wasn’t to shame those who don’t spend money on the game rather to justify people who do spend money. Your comment makes it sound like only a fool would spend money on something they can get for free.

I was implying what people doing missions over winning are thinking.
