Don't "Brink" yourself over the DLC

Remember all the hype and anticipation from when Brink was announced up until the release? Remember what happened when we actually got the game and played it for a good amount of time? Where either you fell in love with the game or you got your own hopes up so high only for reality to set in and soon hope was replaced with disappointment and a bitter taste in your mouth. Or as I call it getting “Brinked”.

This thread is aimed at the current fence sitters. The ones who, like I used to, hold onto some crazy idea that this DLC will make or break the game for them. But honestly, I really don’t think it will change anything. Two new maps and napalm grenades will not revive this game for you. If you love brink now, you will love it after the DLC. If Brink is an O.K game to you, then it probably will be after the DLC as well.If you hate brink now, or are starting to like it less and less then both trends will continue after the DLC. So please, don’t hype this DLC up anymore, just simply move on.

I enjoy brink and I’m looking forward to the DLC but I’m not hyped for it.Furthermore, you are right, it will not revive the community “but will keep it on the life support machine for a little longer”

Most people who have quit the game (which hate the game) will try out the dlc. It won’t make the game much better for them. They will play maybe for 2-3 days. Then finally hit uninstall.

Im more anxious to get the game tweaks, balances and fixes. Im looking forward to the new content, I dont feel its enough content but it will be something new. Hopefully the content will be bug free, will fix serious issues and make the game better for those of us still playing. I am getting sick of waiting but who isn’t. Maybe they will have another DLC hot on the heals of the first release.

i’m looking for it only cause i hope it will fix the freeze problem of italian and other versions that make game impossible to play, literally (it freezes every time you start a match) and cause i hope it will even fix the matchmaking so that if even only 8 people in the world are playing i can play with them… for maps and stuff i don t really care cause it’s really a poor dlc, it sounds more like the part of the game we didn’t get when it was released… a dlc would be a brand new set of events with savage continental tribals slaughtering resistence and security cause they got the ark location or even battles in the continent… that would kick ass.

Brink doesnt need a third group. It would simply mean more bots in game. As far as playing on the “continent”, what continent?
