Does Splash Damage still use Echo?

I watched an old Alpha launch video for DB and apparently they have a system called Echo that allowed devs to track things like hotspots for kills/deaths, weapon statistics, and other things. Does Splash Damage still use it? It looks pretty in-depth.

Also, those Alpha gunshot sounds much better than currently. They sound more beefier.

In one of the “Ask the devs” videos @Exedore once said something along the line:

The data rarely are wrong. They can get misinterpreted though.

I supposed that’s what they rare doing half of the time.

“Hmm, shotguns aren’t very useful at range. I know, let’s turn them into absolute sniper rifles”

As a once avid user of shotguns

They are in fact unusable garbage

But a great way to handicap yourself

Unless of course you’re playing a point-blank Remburg Aura

But everything else is unusable garbage
