That’s actually a really good idea! It means that his maximum effectiveness isn’t affected at all (since him sitting on a health station is always going to be faster at regenerating) but it would make it so that he’s not COMPLETELY useless without a medic. I’ve played pubs with Rhino and you can’t get more than 5 kills or so in a row unless there is a medic SOMEWHERE, who you can run to, ask for heals, and then go back into the fight, because they each time you kill someone you lose a little bit of health and that health regen just keeps getting interrupted before you can overcome the damage you just lost.
Does Rhino need a buff?
If I were to buff Rhino the main thing I would change is maybe add a chin guard to his suit, since its so easy to visually register where his big toe head is. I think this would help A LOT.
but in all honesty when it comes to picking tank Mercs I don’t think Rhino is in need of a buff, I just think Thunders “I WIN” Grenade needs a Nerf.
I Assume most players are used to their fast moving run and gun now now NOW! Mercs so that when they hop onto Rhino they are getting a totally different experience. Suddenly your slower and easier to hit, you have to think about how your gonna approach the next turn or corner, and how things are less now now NOW! and that is why some people are asking for him to be faster.
Imho he has a role and Mechanic that works/fits the game and Its not that Rhino is bad stat or design wise, Its just that the players opinion of him is skewed because they are too use to the faster Mercs causing them to feel an impatient anxiety turning into frustration.
I think the Gaming experience of how Rhino “Feels” compared to the other Mercs Indirectly makes people think hes weaker or needs a buff.
Nah, I’ve played Rhino successfully before. He’s just boring by design, and I want him to be fun to fight as and play against, of which he is neither right now,
The game toted being fast paced, Rhino is not that. Even with all his wall bouncing pre-spins he just simply wasn’t fun to play due to his entire design being “slow turret” and nothing else. His niche is too small, and is generally overshadowed by other mercs who can be far more flexible. His entire play style at a competitive level is holding a few parts of a map with an Aura, which is sad - because no other merc relies so heavily on medics as Rhino does, and when people can actually aim, his 200hp means nothing because he’s bordering on stationary.
No one in that game looked like they were above level 10 either, that’s barely an argument if it was intended as one. Just a pub stomp.
if he can be fine by his own, it would be better than having aura checking up on him every minute to see if his spot is comfortable enough.
i hope rhino can have 2nd ability to regen his own health.

I wouldn’t mind a charging shoulder ram hence his name.
Really the problem is that he is the least versatile character in a game built on flexibility and speed. He literally is just a rock with a minigun that can be kicked around unless a medic babysits him, which isn’t that fun to play with nor that fun to combat, especially if you try to play him for several games in a row. The problem isn’t that he lacks special abilities or healing capacity, it’s that he’s got basically zero mobility and is built for camping in small rooms with the objective, not much else.
A Rhino charge seems appropriate.
Just a mobility increase for a short duration, with a substantial cooldown.
Maybe it could push enemies aside / 1 second stun / blurred vision. The EV can move players, why not Rhino for a brief charge.
To get him from room to room, so he’s not always a slow turret.
You can just lunge already by running and then jumping after tapping crouch. Plus, the EV is a different thing, it actually gets you stuck because the collision mesh is too big and can kill you in a lot of situations.
