Does giving ammo provide reduction to ability cooldown?

I heard this somewhere, I’d like to know the answer.

Yes it does. One direct pack reduces cooldown by 0-4 seconds depending on the ability (for example 4 seconds for skyhammer airstrike, 1 second for arty artillery etc). It works for every ability except medpacks (unless the medpacks cooldown is so short that the reduction is completely unnoticeable). I was planning to make a video on it but i’m not sure if people want to see it

1 pack reduces the laser cooldown by 3-4 seconds. I don’t remember about the ammo station cooldown though (not like you’d need it), i’d have to check my recordings

@averagerussian Though I believe it’s percentage based, and not a flat value (although I could be wrong).

direct hits on somebody lowers their cooldowns by like 10% or something and max 3 seconds or w/e

yes it is percentage based i think, but i can’t do the math so i just kept in mind how many seconds (aproximately) it was for each ability.

Thats pretty cool, not only do you get more ammo but cooldown as well. Its like SD is trying to encourage ammo sharing without directly saying it.

It does indeed :slight_smile: It is a flat value as well, not percentage based.

its not a flat value. I know somebody from sd once said it lowered it by a flat 3 seconds or w/e but it have never been like that in the open beta.

… Um… it used to be 15 percent. Kinda surprised to learn from Shoe that it’s a flat value.

Also, it only applies to combat oriented abilities. Support abilities like ammo stations or medpacks are unaffected.

Yes they are affected… you can lower aura’s heal station ability, I said in the video that it works for everything… I literally tested all abilities in the game but i didn’t want to make the video too long by including them. The shorter the original cooldown, the less noticeable the reduction, so it makes sense to say it’s percentage based.

Excuse me but I think this is the biggest hoax since the DB incident, SD too is in on this conspiracy to make people give out ammo. At 0.52 secs in video there’s two Artys throwing ammo at Skyhammer, there is no way a Skyhammer can’t get topped up even after 7 direct hits with ammo packs. Don’t even start with that zoomed in counter.

I saw your video and the description again, tried it out again, it works with direct hits as you said. It was all a misunderstanding. Never knew giving out ammo would help you with airstrikes :wink:

@HammerOfDawn21 If that worked with non-direct hits, I could legit just circle jerk a fellow Nader, and practically have an infinite artillery laincher at our disposal. Imagine if that feature worked like Sawpapa’s medpacks!
