Does Explodydendron make Arty better at killing EVs and Generators?

(ProfPlump) #1

Has anyone tested this? I’m thinking that, because it’s hard to call an Arty strike PERFECTLY on the centre of the EV, does Explodydendron become valuable for increasing the damage of Arty strikes that are are not centred on the EV (for instance, when you call the aistrike in by pointing at the front, sides, or back of the EV, rather than calling it in on the turret or on the top of the EV).

Can anyone confirm or deny whether it makes dealing more damage to the EVs and generators easier for Arty?

i think it is. ive played with that theory a while ago.

when i put it on the side of the road near ev, the damage is not that great.
but when i got the artilery in the middle of the ev i get much more exp and sometimes gets kills right and left

Never mind!

Arty strike is not real arty strike on DB is more like mortar strike depend on the damage and the explosions. Sound like multiple 82 mm mortars firing at one location to me.

Actually to me it looks more like an explosive cluster charge launched from a bomber. If you call in an artillery strike on a well lit map with an open sky like Trainyard, you can see a big, slow moving plane move in the skybox before disappearing. To me it looks like some kind of unmanned bomber drone that launches the strike in some kind of smart bomb which then opens up and drops the charges.

I havent conclusively tested it in a controlled environment but I did get more “splash damage” on enemies hiding indoors or in cover with explodydendron so I stopped using cards without it.

It is a bit embarrasing that I cant really answer as Arty is my staple merc but I havent used a non-explodydendron arty loadout for months.

All it does is increase his radius, but yea he’s really good at destroying them.

Nader is still the best though imo, she’s AMAZING for that role.

how big is her nade damage to ev?

It doesn’t do more damage for direct hits, but ultimately yes it does make things easier in a sense as far as the EV goes. Mostly because some times when you’re in a rush it’s hard to get the airstrike off directly next to it (or directly on it) if you’re being shot at or something.

Generators not really, I mean how far away are you talking about? They’re stationary and easy to hit, you can place your marker literally right next to them.

All in all I prefer explodydendron for taking out people rather than the EV. That extra blast radius is good for targetting people behind the EV who you can’t land a direct hit on.

One Arty and one Nader can easily take out the EV at any time.

You need 10 nades (aprox, not sure right now) to diasble ev.

The tandem Arty-Nader is amazing to sdisable ev.

My time using Arty I have found that his airstrikes does not do complete damage to the EV for some reason even with the increase explosion cards :frowning:
