Do you want levels hidden in public matches?
I mean if they are hidden, noobs will think even less before calling you a hacker since there isn’t even a level rank of a player to reference to to explain why they are so good.
Getting called a hacker is a compliment. Getting called a basement dweller nolife virgin faggot is not.
I think my question is what does seeing other people’s levels going to accomplish? Gaining levels isn’t difficult, just requires time. So imo it’s not about showing off some accomplishment like diamond skins in CoD. So what do we get as players? noob players get to be intimidated because someone is higher level than them? automatically assume someone is better? or what? that player is higher level than me i don’t like playing with higher level players so i’m going to leave the game.
This is how i see the levels affecting the game. I’d rather we had some symbol or title that you got from an achievement like killing 5+ players in one airstrike or whatever. Then getting to pick which one you wanted to show off. But seeing someone’s level can only have negative effects on the longevity of the game. I don’t see any pro’s
Oh it’s this thread again.
Maybe the devs should first focus on improving the game, so that people stick around past level 10, so the matches wouldn’t be so uneven.
Matchmaking and uneven population are the biggest issues, along with the lack of private servers, not levels.
When I see my team is full of level 1-9s or so, I’ll be more forgiving if they’re acting like total chucklefucks.
I’d hate to have no idea what to expect from my own team, or the enemy team.
It’s info that I don’t want hidden for the sake of some noobs who weren’t gonna stick with the game anyway.
If this poll would have an option: “Make hiding levels optional”, I would vote for that one, but since we have only “Yes” and “No” options, I voted for “No”.
And here I already explained why.
( Do we really need 50 threads about the same topic? )

Surely they won’t stick around if all they get is constant hate after certain level.
This is not an issue with matchmaking, having better matchmaking won’t fix the core issues of having a public level. Unless you propose making level 80+ servers? (Which obviously won’t work as there are like 5 of us.)

We’ll make 5000 threads about this topic until it gets fixed.
Yes, but this should be an OPTION, let the player choose if he wants to show his level or not.
However I still think that the level should be hidden only after a certain level.
Then the level would show up as “Level >15” or something like that.
What if I honestly don’t give a sh*t because I fully expect everyone on my team to be, as previously mentioned, chucklefucks?

Right now match making just makes the issue worse. If match making would get fixed, less people would complain about public levels, I’m quite sure about that.
If open servers wouldn’t fill with low levels - even when high levels went in first - oh how great that would be?
Level 80 servers? That’s quite hilarious idea, but how about minimum level 20 servers?
Level 20 server suggestion would be way more realistic than level 80 servers.
I find it quite interesting why people complain about low levels insulting high levels and people leaving from lobbies, but yet not so many are mentioning the reason why they always end to play with low levels and why they always have to carry completely clueless low level team.
Sure, go ahead and hide levels, but maybe it would be about a time to realize that the main issue will not be gone, if you simply go and hide levels.
“You can use make up and try to look prettier, but even make up won’t fix the reality.”
P.S. Shouldn’t one active thread with constructive conversation be more valuable than 5000 smaller threads about the same topic?
I get insulted in 10+ servers and I’m sure I’d get insulted in 20+ as well. Anything less than 80+ won’t cut it.
Instead of level servers I’d like a few servers that were more community orientated. I used to play on Quakesh!t servers back in the day for SoF2. It was well known as the servers you go to if you want to play against the best of the best in that game. If we had a few of those there were permanent, named community servers then people would favorite them and use them as opposed to “min level 10”. I’d wager a couple named servers like that would do way more for the more experienced playerbase or the people more interested in a challenge than anything else.

People will always find a way to insult you.
If it’s not your level, it might be your merc you play with, weapons you use, maybe even your name.
If titles will replace levels, people will insult you because of your high title.
If you don’t have that and not level, they might insult you because of your playing hours in Steam. Oh, what if you make your profile private?
They might insult you just because you hide those hours and avoid to show your profile.
They will find a reason to insult, people always does.
Though I support the idea of hiding levels being optional. Those who can’t stand that people insult them because of levels or have another reason X to hide the level, they could do that, but otherwise those players who doesn’t simple give a flying damn what others say about their levels can simply keep them and follow their own process.
This is pointless. Why even have levels if they’re hidden? I don’t think I’ve ever played a game with hidden levels.

Well, it is this thread again but now it has a poll, so it’s easier to keep track of what amount of people want or don’t want this change.
Just playing a pub game today and was ghosting a teammate who would crouch against every wall, sprint gaps, then crouch again, then die rapidly. I didn’t really need to see that he was a lvl 3, but it does help to choose which approach to take with the noob cs player. Hold their hand or shame them till the understand lol.
Please hide levels. There’s too much pressure on high-level players to do well. Sometimes I have an off-day and get shit-talked because I’m a high level. People expect me to carry a shitty team. It’s just stupid.
If we remove the levels: They need to remove/change all server names for level requirements, they need to design/change a new way to have access to play matchmaking.
Levels serve a purpose on what you have access to, I don’t think they want to spend the time changing and renaming everything and adding “named titles” rather than levels.
