Do you think some cheats detect when you are being spectated?

(robustWonder) #1

I was against this sniper who was constantly getting head shots. One after the other with barely a pause.

Then when I spectated through him he was missing all his shots and barely getting body shots. Then when I left he was back to getting headshots the whole game.

Do you think a cheat program can be programmed to automatically disable when someone is spectating through the cheater?

I think maybe he just wasn’t cheating

It really wouldn’t be hard to get into the habit of checking to see if anyone is spectating, and turning off the hacks when you see one.

Having said that, he probably just wasn’t cheating.

All it would need to do is check for spectators. Although spectating a sniper doesn’t really do much when looking for cheats since most snipers are twitch shooters so they’ll look like snaps no matter what. The only way to know if a sniper is cheating is of they go full blatant and run around hip firing with constant headshots. An experienced sniper also knows which way people will spawn from as well so you can’t really call wall hacks against them either.

It is suspicious. Maybe he did it on purpose so you won’t catch him.
I only got 3 hackers on tape so far. Most of the time they leave by some magical reason when I try to spectate them.

Was he getting constant headshots against you, or the whole team? If you went spectating because he specifically hit you all the the time then you removed the only target he was OP against and I hate to say it but you need to work on your movement in that case.

Not sure if a mechanic that spots if people spectate is possible, would depend on the way that information gets relayed from server to client. If the server announces it when someone switches to specmode (never paid attention to it) then sure a program listening to gamestate messages could sniff it out and autodisable it.

against the whole team and more than once he would get multiple head shots in a row with what seemed like a 1-2 second delay.

I may just be getting paranoid about aimbots but it seemed odd he suddenly had issues getting body shots when I started to spectate.

I’ve noticed most of the blatant hackers rarely use Vassili. I guess it’s because of the way most hacks work. Most hackers I’ve seen use Rhino with no spread on the minigun along with aimbot, etc. Actually, I rarely see hackers on any other merc… most of them are Rhino, and it’s obvious when they’re hacking, you “feel” it and hear the difference when it hits you.

I’ve seen one hacking Vassili in 350 hours of gameplay, and he was obvious because he didn’t scope in. I think since the sniper rifles use a scope, it’s a little harder to hack with them, since it’s much more obvious. Nailing headshots without being scoped in isn’t as sneaky as an smg or something.

Chances are, he wasn’t hacking. He was just good. My sniper partner gets hackusated a lot, and people go to spec him, and then accuse him of more BS like this when they see wow! He actually misses a lot!

Also worth mentioning… I’ve noticed with snipers that if your FOV is different from their FOV when you spectate, it can make their aim look totally off. Guess it’s a bug.

No, but cheats can be toggled on and off by the player. Smart cheaters do it to appear less suspicious. Also it is possible he noticed you are spectating.

(Ghosthree3) #10

Yes I think they can. Other 3 options are he turned them off himself, it turns them off whenever anyone is in spec no matter whether they’re the ones being specced or not. Or 3 he wasn’t cheating.

I just don’t understand the fuss about hackers in noncompetitive play,

I guess it’s because I grew up on Roblox where there’s tons of hackers and you report them and that’s that.

Because people either ruining the game for everyone or performing in a way they don’t deserve is really shit?

(watsyurdeal) #13

I know for a fact that they do, I’ve delved into reading about it after the VACation thing happened in CS GO, and I wondered how the hell people managed to get that far into CS without a ban.

They have some terrifyingly intricate stuff for cash, insurance when your account is banned, toggle on and off, what part of the body you wanna hit. It’s scary shit.

It really makes me wonder who really is playing fair or toggling it on and off. It’s sickening to think I gave people enough credit to say yea, they’re fine.

Availible for other games, and as this is a 10-year-old engine, I doubt it isn’t availible here.

Aj and AAA subscribers get a warning when someone is spectating the gameplay. So he turn off the Trigger and stay with ESP, which you could not detect so easy in spectator mode.
