I ask this because at the moment it’s damn near impossible to find games in gold, and the gold players are either a) making aliases and pissing off the lower level players “because smurfing” or b) many are just giving up on Dirty Bomb already and playing other games, because it’s exactly the same as last season with hours and hours of queuing for nothing, to find 0 games.
We love the game, we love ranked, we want to play nothing but Dirty Bomb but it’s damn near impossible to play right now. Even our aliases are mid to high gold, and we already can’t play on those.
I have no problem with that for solo/duo queue, if the teams are composed somewhat equally in terms of rank distribution. No 1xGold Master + 4xSilver Recruit vs 5xGold Recruit etc.
it seriously hard when you play in asia (gets moved to 200+ping australia)
im in asia for the next 2 months so…
probably no more ranked for me
i havent play for a day now since the last time i get very triggered playing on 200+ping server[/quote]
Yeah it’s worse for Asians. At least us Australasians ping somewhere between 60-140 to Asia servers, but the Asians ping 350+ to the Australian servers lol. Literally unplayable for them.
What dazzles me is that even if 10 Australians find a game together in ranked, it will put them in an Asian server most of the time, and visa versa - 10 Asians can match up together and be put on an Australian server. It must just pick a random one, it’s bizarre.
With the amount of n’erdowell players around, the skill gap you’re experiencing will narrow in time; so it’s not the sort of one hit wonder achieve. Like what @stayfreshshoe said, the progression is something to be experienced.
What happens next if you get to Cobalt Elite??? Will you still play ranked if the only option for that is getting de-ranked? I like to stay in between ranks so I can keep the “feeling progression”. If there’s anything that SD has done right, this could be it.
There’s a lot of new players learning to pass ammo and medpacks. Take note… they PASS AMMO and MED PACKS; they’re not just dropping it anymore. It’s one of the good things I’ve seen since ranked got introduced and not only in ranked games, also in pubs.

I will keep playing yes. I don’t care for my rank, I think the skins are mediocre (not ugly, but I still prefer fragment cobalt over them) and I don’t even like trinkets. I just want some damn games. I think everyone who is struggling to find games right now feels the same way.
I’d say why not?
Even in silver there is a huge skill difference, so the games are unbalanced enough already, that adding in gold and bronze wouldn’t make it worse IMO.

You are giving us too much credit. I don’t think half the player base myself included will ever rank up to anything above silver.
I do however believe that this will consistently give balanced games as time goes but if people in higher ranks are having season 1 levels of wait times, tweaking the numbers a bit won’t be a bad idea.
@Dox Well, I guess you’re in the major leagues then. DBNation really has a good place for you; and it’s quite unfortunate that Oceana doesn’t have sufficient population to hold a valid league, but you’ll just have let the rest of the trailing end of the player base catch up.
@HammerOfDawn21 Hey… new players are learning! They’re now passing ammo and medpacks! It’s a step towards progression and sooner or later, they’ll get better. You’ll never know if you never let it grow.
We kinda have to broaden the range since our community is so small, people really need to stop leaving just because they are afraid or whatever. The only way you learn is by challenging yourself, and if you aren’t willing to do that why are you playing Ranked?
