Do you stop playing dirty bomb after you've completed your missions?

(Borganism) #21

I might play a game or two after I finish my missions off, but I’m a high enough level now that missions take a while so I get enough play time and its a good excuse to stop and do something else for a bit. I tend to play a few times a day at the moment though.

Overall I like the missions but even the 22k combat missions take less time than the 12k support missions, even if im spamming support xp. the 22k combat gives more credits too. I think im going to start rejecting those ones just to freshen up the list.

I think the ‘‘I play even when i do not have missions and I do not need any more credits. should be merged into eachother… they’re basically the same aren’t they’’

(frzn) #23

Playing without missions doesn’t mean you don’t care about the credits though.

Missions for me are a bit divisive. Part of me loves trying to complete them as fast as humanly possible. But sometimes I just want to play what I want to play and as we all know you aren’t going to complete a Support XP mission with Fragger/Vassili/Phantom etc so it can definitely be divisive for me. A lot of times I’ll keep playing after I’ve done missions just so I can play exactly what I want to play.

@Eddie I don’t believe they are the same thing. The reason is some people just want to play and don’t care about missions. I have quite a few friends who play, even when they have missions, and don’t even attempt or care to complete them despite knowing it’s the best way to gain credits. And they play when they don’t have missions…but they still need the credits.

A simple yes/no should do the trick.

I play even when i do not have missions (Yes i play after missions)

I do not need any more credits (Yes i play after missions)

Please correct me if i’m being stupid

[Edit : i do understand some people still play after missions for credits. But i mean it kind of sounds the same to me.]

I do not need any more credits - Basically means u still play even after missions.

They do overlap, but one is saying that the missions don’t matter to you and the other is saying that they do matter but you keep playing anyway. It’s a distinction in motivation.

My friend convinced me to play again. I had quit because of the Aim Punch change, but running Nader with Focus until it’s fixed and only doing my missions so I don’t fall behind on cash is working alright for me, and I’m having fun.

But anyways, the missions I skip are just Waterboy missions, I don’t do those. Otherwise I’ll spend an hour or so every reset to get the missions done then take a break til the next wave.

Oh I should mention, I don’t do Waterboy simply because I only play Nader, and don’t like playing any of the support mercs, so I don’t have a way to farm Support XP, without playing a merc I don’t want to play. Even game mode XP I can get just from long defense bonuses and damaging the ev and such, doesn’t force me to play a different merc.

Fair Enough. my bad

“I only play when I have missions, but I skip certain missions (please explain).”

I usually stop playing after my missions are done. Partly because I don’t see as much of a point in playing when I don’t have missions, but also because usually the time it takes to finish my missions is enough time for me to have my fill of the game for the day.

I tend to skip the “Win x matches” missions. More likely to skip it the higher the number of wins is, and especially if its stopwatch since those matches take longer. I don’t find those missions very fun to try to complete since it’s more or less up to luck if you’ll end up on a team that knows what an objective actually is.

(Whoisthis) #30

[quote=“Aazhyd;45902”]I usually skip the “Win 2 Stopwatch matches” (Stopwatch most of the time is not fun) and sometimes the higher Combat XP mission. Because I am a true support player, I don’t make huge amounts of kills, but can get Support XP easily. So I never skip Waterboy missions.

L15 currently.

I’m the same. Stopwatch matches usually have unbalanced teams. I’ve seen where really “great” teams drag out the match to farm kills for the full 14 minutes on each side. That’s why I don’t do stopwatch for wins anymore. There are matches where (as Sparks) I’ll just get spawn camped continuously and I just use the time to go make a sandwich. I’ll do “play” stopwatch matches, but I insta-delete win X stopwatch matches. Nothing better for me than multiple Waterboy missions.

(Ghosthree3) #31

Stopwatch wins are the worst because you could play for 30 minutes just to lose. Honestly I server hop for those missions, and try and find a winning game.

(RyePanda) #32

Waterboy is pretty easy if you play as Arty or Skyhammer and always throw down ammo. Though it would be easier if you got more points for helping someone up. Spending 6 seconds and only getting 60XP doesn’t seem worth it, increasing the XP would encourage more revives and helping people up. But I play when I don’t have missions because I like to play the game. If there weren’t missions at all I’d still play.

(ayybailey) #33

When I first started playing, I played regardless if I had missions or not. But now that I’m 70h in, I tend to only play when I have a mission. I don’t want to burn out playing for 100-200 credits per game, when I could be doing that and get a potential 500-1000 payout.

And depending on when the next refill of missions is, I’d usually skip the support xp missions (Waterboy, I think?). If I have 2-3 hours, I’d play it out spamming ammo boxes with Skyhammer, but it tends to take a little long.

(Sephios) #34

Missions -> Competitive -> Missions Refill -> Competitive again.

(NinjaToast) #35

I usually only play when I have missions. Sometimes if I’m bored I’ll play without missions to do but usually only 1 match. I don’t want to burn out and I have other things to do so the mission incentive is important.

I skip game mode XP, any stopwatch mission, and sometimes the ‘win x objective’ missions.

(incredibleHoneydew) #36

I only play for doing missions. I want the cash bad and the missions make it happen. Double cash weekend is an extra incentive for me to play multiple times a day though, but never without any missions.

For the waterboy mission: Having sparks in free rotation helped a lot. I just stay back and revive for up to 3000 support XP / objective match. With a terrible kill-death ratio though.

(sinKrin) #37

I’ve started paying a bit more attention to some of the missions. Good way to get a few credits. I generally avoid the Stopwatch win ones. The Waterboy one is much easier with an ammo dropping merc rather than a medic.

If I haven’t got any active missions I’ll still play for fun or testing out new loadouts.
