Do you aim down sights with the Dreiss or Grandeur?

(ImSploosh) #1

I do and it’s super effective. If I’m not in shotgun-range, then I ADS with it so I don’t need to worry about the spread (I think). I’m not entirely sure how that works, but it appears that bullets don’t just go in random directions when spamming while adsing.

What are your opinions with aiming down sights with these weapons? I know this game is almost entirely about hipfiring and movement, but sometimes taking a step back and slowing down a bit can stop that jumpy Aura or Kira coming your way.

It also makes me feel like I’m playing CoD, but the kills are just so satisfying! Also, I’ve noticed people accuse me of aimbotting when using either of these weapons because I tend to go on headshot sprees. I find that hilarious because my accuracy with both is between 25%-30%.

If my target is fairly still at long range I will spamfire at them while ADS, but if they’re at long range and they’re sprinting perpendicular to me then I’ll slow down my fire and aim from the hip (possibly while crouching to tighten the spread even more, if no one is targetting me), because aiming with a crosshair tends to be easier to ‘flick’ than when you have a cumbersome ironsight in obscuring your view. For all other situations I just hipfire.

Absolutely not, I don’t wanna be a stationary target with the Dreiss, and Grandeur have a horrible ironsights. I find much better to just fire slower and avoid spamming shots, thus maintain accuracy and keep their bloom in control.

I typically ADS only on people who aren’t aware of me just yet, by the time they do I’ve already lit them up like a Christmas Tree.

(Occult) #5

ill ads on the dreiss behind cover or at a distance but hip at close/mid

(ImSploosh) #6

I like the ironsights of both, but I’m used to the Grandeur’s ironsights since I used the M14 in Battlefield Bad Company 2 a lot. The recoil is the same as the M14 in that game so I find it to be a very little challenge. I tend to stay at a distance with both guns and try to never get too close, but I find that if I am in close-quarters situation, I can just spam both for headshots.

One thing I’ve really noticed with both guns is that after landing 1-2 shots on anyone, they tend to run away or try to escape because that huge chunk of damage taken from them scares them off. This can be useful for me because it gives me time to slow my aiming

(KattiValk) #7

Both of them put out some impressive DPS when spammed in ADS. It still doesn’t quite save the Dreiss though.

(XavienX) #8

I find “quickscoping” or quick ADS between shots quite effective on the Granduer since if I hold ADS, the sights are horrible because I can’t see the sides. However quick ADSing between each shot is quite hard.

(streetwiseSailboat) #9

I primarily use the Grandeur and I only use ADS on really long range enemies. I hipfire for most part because it’s satisfying landing that 80 damage headshot.

(Tanker_Ray) #10

Of course, I mean, why not??

(BananaSlug) #11

i like to spam fire when the target is in open space

(gseijn) #12

I ads with the grandeur probably 95% of the time. I don’t even bother using the dreiss.

(CCP115) #13

Dreiss has a good sight, so I use it a lot compared to other guns.

Grandeur has a terrible ironshit, so I don’t use it nearly as much. 40 DMG hipfire is no joke.

Hahahahaha y main redeye… … Just joking…

Of course I do. One of the skill ceilings in this game is knowing when and in what situations to ADS and when to hipfire. People who claim that you should be hipfiring at all times make me laugh because that’s not even close to the truth. Situations, timing and the gun you’re using dictates how often you need to use ADS. With the Dreiss I ADS less but I still do it when I want to ramp up my rate of fire. The GR is purely range specific whether I ADS or not a lot of the times but there are some situations where you’re in CQC that you’d want to ADS and others where you should be firing from the hip. Again, that’s part of the skill ceiling with DB. It actually makes hipfire and ADS a compelling choice and not everyone will use it the same way.

Well said!

Sometimes I’ll find myself in some close quarters situations where I’l be ADSing just to not experience so much spread and hit the target between lots of cover. As you said, situations are a big part of it. I find myself ADSing out of point-blank or almost point-blank range with the Grandeur a lot. So even if I’m still relatively close, I’ll ADS to maintain consistent shots.

With the Dreiss on the other hand, it’s a bit different. I’m not even sure when I ADS with it, I can’t explain it. It’s all very instinctive to me. I’ve learned to get a good feel with the weapon and do it without thinking. It went from being one of my least used weapons (something like 30 kills), up to being my most used (over 1k kills).

I do a bit of both. Usually just depends on if my enemy can see me and the distance I’m at.

What do you mean?
