Do Weapon Stats even matter?

Damage is displayed as DPS (damage per second).

It ignores delays due to burst firing, bonuses/penalties for headshots/limbshots, and the fact that when you’re on full-auto and not burst firing, you WILL miss LOTS.

Factor that in, and the stats are accurate.

Shotguns fire slowly enough that their DPS is actually lower than ARs - but they do MUCH more damage with each shot.

If that’s the case, they should have just had them as flashbangs or concussion grenades, rather than the explosive-supposed-to-kill ones.

They matter.

But the stats that show on the weapon selection screen don’t really correlate to what you see in-game.

The weakest SMG does more damage than the strongest SMG going off the stats. I mentioned this before, and someone told me it is because it’s combining the ROF with the Damage stats. But that doesn’t seem to add up, either. Not to mention if that were the case it would be incredibly stupid, since it should only come into effect that a weapon outputs more damage the higher it’s ROF if that fire is sustained. When I shoot, I use short bursts, or single shots. Especially to test out the damage of a weapon.

Why? To protect your delicate preconceptions from being challenged?

Does it really matter if it’s called a frag if it doesn’t act like frags in other games? Just learn how to use the mechanic and get on with enjoying the game instead of arguing semantics!

The Kross is about the lightest weapon you could point at someone.
