DLC, did someone already post this?

(bastuden) #1

last thing said about the DLC from the Brink team http://twitter.com/#!/brinkgame

(Darksider) #2

No one posted it because it’s the same answer that have been said many times already " We’ll let you know when when we’re done on the DLC".

(its al bout security) #3

thats an update as of 12 hours ago my bet is they have put it in to microsoft for approval isnt that so ?EXCITING!

(bastuden) #4

Oh OK, just wanted to do my part to keep everyone up to date.

(KAS--Will) #5

It is coming this month right? I thought we were promised this month… XD

(Zekariah) #6

Being that we are WELL into June now, SD should have a confirmed date. Radio silence is not a good sign.

(Overgear) #7

The problem is that we’re half way through June so unfortunately there are still another two weeks the update could come in.

Badman:
“The DLC is still coming. The moment we have a date we’re 110% sure won’t change, we’ll throw it at the internet. There are many factors and moving parts involved, and we’re wanting to stay as far away from “rolling” release dates as possible.”

Thanks for that Zen…

Sometimes you need a little reminder of things said to gain a little patience.

No problems

Yeah. I wouldn’t mind a reminder every now and then over twitter saying something like “polishing up the maps and they’re begining to look great” just so that we know something is happening.

But after so many people screaming for blood because “the game was overhyped and didn’t deliver on promises” (apparently) I wouldn’t be surprised to see a Bethesda representative standing behind every SD employee holding a choke-chain.

If July hits and they haven’t confirmed a date then we can start asking angry questions but as it is I’m happy to wait for the next update.

Hey Zen, I don’t really know if the Splash Damage team really understand how the twitter phenomenon works, the point you made honestly is brilliant… If I was team Brink I would use twitter as a marketing source and be on it everyday constantly posting what the team was doing at the moment, otherwise, how do we know they are not all on vacations, if they are working on somethings, waiting on something whatever… Take a few seconds out your day and jump on the old twitter and tell us what your doing, take a twit pic of team, etc…

You drive your new prototype car home and find out that the computer software on it is faulty. The software allows the car to function to get you from point A to B but fails at all the obvious expected things like radio, window wipers, headlamps, brake lamps, etc…

So the company starts to look into the programming of the chip and tells you that it should be the beginning of June. You keep using the new aqua blue car but are tempted to just keep driving the old faithful brown car. Beginning of June comes and goes, you are now ending June and there are even rumors that it may take as long as August to get the fixes on the problems.

Here’s my question to you:
Would you rather have the repairs to the items in your new car as they are figured out? Like the headlamps, cabin lights, trunk opener, etc?

or

Would you rather wait until they are all fixed at the same time knowing that the value and reputation of your car is degrading with each passing day, week, month?

personally, I would rather have the pause-timeout cvar fixed.
and then I’d like them to activate my demo record cvar.
and then a few days later, I’d like them to allow a offense, defense respawn time cvar.
one week later, I’d like to find out that they added a speclock.
oh and they surprised me a few hours after that when they fixed the dehacking speed.
etc…

I would rather they fixed things as they are fixed instead of having all the fixes done “sometime” in the future.

I don’t think any grown man would want to have a half fixed car…

(Zekariah) #15

Good point. I have completely steered clear of Twitter myself, but there are plenty of forum users that would post these tweets in a heartbeat, thus getting my attention.

(DarkangelUK) #16

A post on twitter makes no difference to the work they are doing. I’m not sure why you would think they aren’t working on it just because they didn’t say “we’re working on it”. Do you think they aren’t?

I would rather they ramped up some expectation by posting a screenshot or 2 from one of the maps, or an action pic from a game with one of the new class items in use etc.

(Nexolate) #17

This. I’ve been waiting for media since I heard there’d be new content. That would certainly sate my appetite until it actually gets released and I don’t imagine there’d be too much issue with releasing one or two generic screenshots at this point.

Regards,
Nexo

(Wildkarrde) #18

Well there’s only another 2weeks to wait for Sd and Bethesda’s “ironclad promise” of free DLC

I reckon ramping up expectation may not be the smartest move on their behalf.

Didn’t ‘exactly’ work for them last time.

Not that I’m disagreeing with you. I wouldn’t be able to contain myself with a coupla shots of Founders Tower!

(Haragorn) #20

Funny you should say that…
