@MissMurder When Thunder came out, I expected him to be tanky and kind of be really good at support for the team. However, it was kind of the exact opposite. Although the MK46 is fast firing, it does really low damage and he can be easily get overwhelmed and pushed back by a Stoker with the Timik-47. In addition, Stoker’s fire can easily take out Thunder in a second before he can do any real damage to the real enemy. Not only that, but his concussion grenade is very derpy and awkward. The fact that the concussion grenade can blind your teammates is a very bad thing. This allows for trolls in the game to affect the gameplay. Not only that, but if you throw a concussion grenade half way across the map and look at it, you will get the entire blindness affect on you which is a major drawback. When Thunder came out, I was really surprised with the results since only 2 people played as Thunder; me and an enemy. The result wasn’t as big as Stoker’s and will definitely need tweaks. His weapon needs a slight buff on damage, and the concussion grenade needs to be reworked.
Dissapointment from Thunder
I don’t think you’re supposed to be calling out moderators. Regardless, Thunder is so far the biggest disappointment for the merc I unlocked. I literally feel worthless to the team and incapable of killing people as per the role of an assault class.
Man I feel like I’m the only one who’s had fun with Thunder, he feels like Fragger to me, super aggressive, and amazing for offense. No more campers, no more turtling, just throw a concussion nade and push with your buddies to mop up.
Spent $10 on him and I’m not disappointed. Now the $10 I spent on Red Eye is another matter.
Nah, you’re not alone. I was on a ton of servers yesterday with people griping about how awful he was all while I was pretty much destroying the whole server using Thunder and having a grand ole time. People were especially vocal on the min 10 server I was on but that’s nothing new since those servers tend to have the saltiest people in DB.

@Amerika
Same here, I haven’t tried the Stark yet but the MK 46 and Timik felt fantastic, and I love the utility of the Concussion grenades, especially after they fix the bugs.
I even got into argument with someone who said the game was full of hackers and Overwatch was better.
My literal replies were, “so how do you explain what I’m doing?” and “lol no, Overwatch is a moba disguised as a shooter”
He’d probably do well with the Stark since you can kill a lot of flashed mercs in one burst but I haven’t tried it yet. I love it on Stoker. I feel like the MK46 is a slightly better option for room clearing quickly since you can easily mow down heads and not have to worry about your positioning like you do with the Stark (using burst weapons changes my movement patterns significantly).
I’ve had access to OW since day 1 and the same for Paladins and I obviously play DB. Paladins is basically Smite with a free-look camera combined with a CCG. It’s fun but very RNG heavy and they have stayed entirely away from hitscan weapons making it even more RNG (even though skilled players will reduce their RNG with how they play). OW is definitely more of a shooter but it’s basically TF2 if Valve decided to go the “champion” route in regards to development and balancing. Same as Paladins, you can tell by it’s movement and it’s shooting that it was designed to be ported to consoles. OW is very spammy overall and very quick too. It’s definitely taking a page out of the mobile development handbook in regards to having “quick bite” play sessions that don’t last long. But it’s sort of like TF2 where it’s not raw aim vs. raw aim all the time which is where DB, IMO, excels.
So that’s an off-topic rundown between the three games. I really should give OW more time but I just haven’t enjoyed myself for the same reasons I never really liked TF2. It’s not a bad game it’s just not my type of game. But, like TF2, OW has great aesthetics and charm for days which is enough for a lot of people.
