Because sometimes you want to disarm and there is a team mate on top of the bomb.
So instead of disarming you end up trying to raise your mate.

IE engineer is lying on top of a bomb that is still has time to explode. In this case you would wish to raise the engi to defuse the bomb all quick like.

Or you could defuse it yourself because it would take much longer to revive and have them defuse.

Nope, the only time it would be quicker is if you are a medic, but then your revive is on a different key, so it wouldn’t be an issue.
8s defuse for any class other than Objective Specialists or Mechanic augmented class. Can be cancelled anytime and continued where left.
8s for helping someone up. If cancelled, start over.
4s defuse for Obj Spec.
6.4s defuse for Mechanic augment? (8s x 0.2 = 1.6s reduction? // 8s - 1.6s = 6.4s)
Can’t recall right away any situation where helping up an Obj Spec. downed on top of C4 and letting him defuse then would fasten the situation. Specifically if C4 is partially defused already, that should be priority over getting mate up.
