Disappointing Packs (Scam?)

A few weeks ago I have purchased the firestorm pack in-game which was advertised as 50% off. The pack contained only 5 mercs, 10 normal cases and a few hours credit boots. This pack was ฿900+ (which is the currency in Thailand)

The new update today had me thinking about this game in a very bad light. The new firestorm starter pack has 15 MERCS!, 6 Elite Cases, 15 Golden Equipment Cases, 18 Hour Credit Booster and 25,000 Credits. You get the idea… All of this for only ฿899!!! wtf man … ฿100 cheaper and 10 MERCS MORE!!

Why would I spent ฿900 at all to get only 5 MERCS ???
I felt cheated, I felt used. I’ve only purchased the pack a few weeks ago but man this hurt a lot

But I still enjoyed the game above all else and still plays it with a couple of friends daily!

I would like to know what you guys think of this situation?
If I am going to be compensated at all or is there any news out there from the devs saying that people who had purchased the previous bad packs will be getting something back in-game wise. I know it’s a long shot but damn, as a consumer, this felt pretty bad. Could all of this just happened because of bad luck?!

At the very least, maybe they could give with that pack an amount of credits depending of how much mercs you already have unlocked before buying it, or a free weapon case + key, or whatever. It would give a point for people to buy that pack despite having most of the current merc roaster unlocked. I am myself in that situation where buying the whole merc pack would be kind of moot, and I already spent a lot of money on a lot of DB’s content.

It’s understandable that an all mercs pack feels like some big hit in the balls by a good part of the playerbase, I gotta say. But on the other hand I don’t see how what SD did would be a scam. I mean, it’s a bit like complaining for buying something for its full price while you could have get the same thing at -75% during the Black Friday… Sort of.

over time as a DB player you will learn that there are almost constantly changes which feel like a kick in the gut to older players…

I don’t know man… at the beginning I only wanted to support the game and since the packs are advertised every where in-game, then I might as well. But I mean come on… this shit just hurts pretty bad :neutral:

Now imagine a veteran of the game 5000+ hours in the game supporter since day one and owner of all the beta fighters.
And NOW imagine him seeing that the game develops more and more into a british version of CS and Overwatch. All the mercs he grinded for are now available for 39,99€ and all the obsidians he bought as an ethusiast of support are available again for less money.
All those hours that he was proud getting everything on his own and not having to rely on anything…
Had this situation recently in Discord and still feel sorry for that poor dude.

Just kidding, he kinda just laughed at it since he was expecting it for a long time.
As @Shenaynays already said you get used to just beeing d*cked with (despite the motto) I bought the firestorm pack and now I have to deal with the fast that I could have gotten all Mercs + new ones + 5 Obsidians for 5€ less… I am not even pissed I am just sad.

lol he seems very positive about the situation! I guess this is going to be a normal experienced if I am going to carry on playing the game … sad …

You know Battlerite had this exact same problem… the devs refund all your previous purchases thru out the whole game… if you buy the all champions pack. I love the devs for that

Im upset that they said that you would be able to see a difference between the new and original obsidians in reruns. But thats just complete noncence. Even a slightly changed colour scheme would have worked.

Changing the colour stripe on Fletchers obisidian to teal or a dark green would have made it different enough to seem unique.
Arty, change the colour of his shirt, simple enough and big enough to be noticed.
Pheonix, the original version of the obsidian still exists which has a different colour scheme completely.
Stoker’s obsidian had a Khaki camo on the straps for the ammo boxes, which could easily have been changed.

Its not even overly time consuming. it feels lazy on SD’s part.
