This was the first match I’ve watched and I had trouble keeping track of what was going on. Now I realise how spoilt I’ve been by CS:GO.

I often wondered who I was looking at atm (who’s perspective are we following?). Desperately need an overview map to describe the layout of the map at the start of a match and show player positions during the match. Who are attacking and who is defending - this is going to sound stupid, but I honestly didn’t realise who was doing what until the second half when they swapped sides  . Even then it’s hard to keep track when the camera keeps swapping between players.

Some minor points: When a team has completed an objective take a few seconds to describe the new situtation for players who dont know the game. Like when the attackers take the EV on bridge they have to escort it & defenders have to try and hold them by constructing the barrier. Most of the time only half of the objective was described before it was interrupted by something else going on. Lastly I was wondering who the commentators were / who was talking. By the end I think I figured out that there were 3 commentators? Pixel, Draceus? (not sure on spelling) & somebody from NA (dirtycups.gg)

Oh yeah the bit where you jump into the voice chat of a team wasn’t very fun. It didn’t add much and every time you switched to that or back the videostream got stuck for a while.

It was fun though and I realise that you’re not on the same level as CS:GO where they have more experience so good effort.

to be honest, I blame the lackluster spectator mode, and not the shoutcasters themselves. Also a SW game is A LOT harder to cast than round-by-round CSGO.

The color system is very silly, imo it would be much better to stick to something like ‘attackers always blue, defenders always red’ (as far as spec mode) that coincidentally matches the scores-tab, and doesnt go away from the system we know already in-game.

Thanks! 10 char

I watched and enjoyed the stream - nice job on the commentary… “PUT IT IN THE HARD ONE”

Agree, I couldn’t see the name of the player being specced; also I couldn’t see the spawn timer (I think it appeared under the logo).

It was a good broadcast.

I’d really like to Splash Damage add an overhead map in spectator mode, taking up part of the screen. The icon for each player should be the head of the Merc they are using.

What’s the reason behind this rule? Are 2 Sawbones unkillable or what? I don’t get it.

(ARTiER) #14

Freze would rek you m8.

(Rex) #15

At least you both fit perfectly together I have to admit. Why haven’t you adopted him yet? Is his history too bad?

(yakcyll) #16

More variety with mercs = more viewers. Highlander is also a ruleset that won’t require much adaptation later on and will ensure that at least ten mercs (with the introduction of draft, five otherwise) will be utilized consistently, that in turn making forty mercs worth of work not go to waste and helping mitigate the outcry of merc imbalance.

And Freze is a decent player individually, so I don’t see why he shouldn’t be picked up for a showmatch.

This is proofed I assume, right?

So you need to enforce balance via rules, because the game can’t do it itself? I am all for a ruleset which is closest to pub play and I think it would be rather confusing for new players to have only one merc of each kind while they always had the freedom of choice on pub.
And what happens with the “one merc rule” when two players accidently spawn as the same merc? Do they have to kill themselves immediately? Do they get a penalty or do they lose the whole match they just played?
I also don’t like it because it restricts my freedom of tactical choice.

No offence, but you can’t get the joke here.

(Kroad) #19

one merc rule to avoid 2/3 fraggers on a team

a lot more fun both to watch and play

I dislike it as well, I’d much rather have just a few classes deemed outstandingly annoying by the community be limited in numbers than highlander. I suppose we gotta adapt.

Yeah, I had this fleeting idea that I was missing something here. x|
