Hey prophet,

I would love to, but the Discord has no ground rules at the moment.
There was a chat the other morning I woke up to and people were talking about mental illnesses and alcoholism. There are lots of off-topic and irksome conversations that go on.

If the Discord had more of a structure similar to the forums, I would promote it more. At it’s current state, however, I don’t feel like that is the right thing to do. There is just zero moderation. I understand everyone and everything needs their place, that’s why I don’t really say anything about it. :slight_smile:

Regardless, I still hang out in it because it’s fun to pop in from time to time and chat!

Why doesn’t the admin of the discord channel make another text channel for off-topic stuff?
I know some people will be lazy to click a button to change channels.

Honestly? Because I feel that it’s supposed to be a place for everyone to hang out. There’s no such thing as off topic, people talk, sometimes a thing leads to X other times to Y. There are specific sub channels for more… specific things, but restricting the entire community to nothing but Dirty Bomb seems silly to me. We’ve got these forums, SD forums and reddit for that already.

While I agree some things need moderation, and we usually do… As long as it’s not excessively annoying or outright racist/demeaning/illegal/whathaveyou, you’re free to do whatever you want.i
