Fantastic update, feels smoother, slightly faster?, got an extra 20+ FPS I think (on low settings), like the Soldier’s gun (guess I’m playing “the other one” compared to last patch), gun is wicked deadly but RoF is slower, not entirely sure what’s changed with the others gun wise, higher head-shot damage? bit more accurate? not sure but the gun-play is fantastic now.
The biggest issue I had with DB in the early days was I knew my old DOD clan-mates would laugh at me if I showed them this game with it’s shoot a bullet, wait a bit, shoot another one, type of weapons, but not anymore, I think I can definitely recommend it to them now. In fact I think this may be the game that finally gets objective mode game-play out of the “nice but silly” rut it’s been stuck in ever since ET took the baton from RTCW.
Longer spawn times seem to work, got some C4 down, defenders got a chance to defuse, as they should, but not a second, as they shouldn’t, which is a seriously welcome change. Doesn’t seem to have encouraged Meds to revive anymore tho, and Medic with a Shotgun?? Oh dear, not sure how that’s going to work. Was also interesting to have more than one loadout in play for each class, going to be interesting seeing how that balances out.
And finally we can shoot while carrying, well praise the ****ing Lord (if he existed), can’t tell you how welcome that is as well.
After a several weeks feeling a bit down in the dumps about this game I’m suddenly really optimistic again. It plays really nice now, the gun-play especially. Very well done SD.
