Fantastic update, feels smoother, slightly faster?, got an extra 20+ FPS I think (on low settings), like the Soldier’s gun (guess I’m playing “the other one” compared to last patch), gun is wicked deadly but RoF is slower, not entirely sure what’s changed with the others gun wise, higher head-shot damage? bit more accurate? not sure but the gun-play is fantastic now.

The biggest issue I had with DB in the early days was I knew my old DOD clan-mates would laugh at me if I showed them this game with it’s shoot a bullet, wait a bit, shoot another one, type of weapons, but not anymore, I think I can definitely recommend it to them now. In fact I think this may be the game that finally gets objective mode game-play out of the “nice but silly” rut it’s been stuck in ever since ET took the baton from RTCW.

Longer spawn times seem to work, got some C4 down, defenders got a chance to defuse, as they should, but not a second, as they shouldn’t, which is a seriously welcome change. Doesn’t seem to have encouraged Meds to revive anymore tho, and Medic with a Shotgun?? Oh dear, not sure how that’s going to work. Was also interesting to have more than one loadout in play for each class, going to be interesting seeing how that balances out.

And finally we can shoot while carrying, well praise the ****ing Lord (if he existed), can’t tell you how welcome that is as well.

After a several weeks feeling a bit down in the dumps about this game I’m suddenly really optimistic again. It plays really nice now, the gun-play especially. Very well done SD. :smiley:

OK … so I persist a bit and now this is the first /ragequit since the alpha start …
I really dislike this update … Waiting next month for the next update …
not fun anymore with this TTK.

Good:

  1. Love the faster movement.
  2. Like how you can shoot whilst holding carry objectives.
  3. All the different versions of the classes are great.
  4. Liking the added customization for cross-hairs.
  5. Barracks interface is easy to use and looks nice.

Bad:

  1. TTK is way too short now and was probably too short in the previous patch.
  2. Don’t like how you’re stuck using one version of a class and can’t switch unless you exit the server and visit the barracks; today I often found myself wanting to play medic because our team needed one, but I had selected the health station one which isn’t at all suited for attack, I’ve already discussed this here http://forums.warchest.com/showthread.php/36123-Not-the-same-mistake-again?p=448211#post448211

Sure there is stuff I’ve missed out.

hmm i like the camden sidebuild at the first objective , if my eyes wasnt wrong.let it be a bit less meatground :).
i like also the new objectivecarrying, you arent that helpless anymore and can help the team.
the new medic looks nice too :smiley: like his more definsiv items but havent played him so far.
dont like the loadout class chosse in the launcher written it already in my other thread.
TTK idk i have pretty sucked ,but can also be reason of my new sensitivity.
spawntimmes increase was a good decision but smth feel still wrong its still much a meatgroud.espeacially on oasis the wall part. the defenders spawn must definitly after capture be put more far away .
i will definitly give next days more feedback

It’s not new but I’d like to know if the screen cluster is going to be adressed in the near future or if it’s one of the game’s feature to have absolutely everything & anything displayed.

The obj icons would fit a lot better on the minimap, the C4 could get his own progress bar in one of the corner or somewhere around the map time, the enemy nameplate could just be dropped for good (the arrow could stay but only if it appeared in a “x” radius around your crosshair as not to reveal/give away players you hadn’t seen in your field of view), etc etc you pretty much get the point for all we have so far on the screen.

  3. I know Kinjal is somewhere in that square, I guess I can just take my time and spray in that area. Oh wait. I don’t. I just hope he doesn’t put a bullet in my head first.

I can’t seem to get the game to launch now. Frustrating! I finally see some people playing, and now it won’t launch?! When I try to join a server, the launcher clears, and the game just hangs. In my taskmanager, the game is using just under 8 megs of RAM, CPU is from 1-3%, but the game just doesnt launch.

Running the game under Win 7 Pro 64bit. Worked fine, before this last update.

Didnt noticed any problems so far …
(gameplay idk ,I will play this week end )
just looked at the maps changes…just can say
Camden look very nice …many new fun paths in this maps… colors are superb …liked a lot !
Canary wraft :this map will look awesome when finish , very nice Bright neon ligthing ,clear map ,Big tubes running will be fun (tubes make this maps very special :slight_smile:
LB:a tab too clear at some spots otherwise all ok to me

well having just finished, the only thing I noticed technically(don’t even get me started on the gameplay) is that the better my ping was the crappier my aim seemed to get. I dunno if what that’s related to, but that’s how it seemed. Someone else mentioned the same thing while we were playing.

Really nice patch. Framerate went up by almost 100fps, holy cow. I liked the map changes on Camden 2nd. RoF is still way too high for the shooting to be as enjoyable as I’d like.

SPAWN TIMES YES! But are they really 20 and 25? Either way it played a hell of a lot better. Also the carryable change is quite nice, but I still want to see the doc carry layouts change drastically.

Were there any netcode changes? I had some skipping on EU and some funky reg feedback compared to the last time I played.

Would also like to see reduced damage from everything aside from headshots. Current rate of fire combined with damage from body shots makes it very difficult to react to anyone decent getting the jump on you. I don’t have a problem if I drop fast and they’re headshots, but seeing the hologram show all shots to the mid section is pretty frustrating. Going for headshots beyond a certain range, I feel like the spread and rate of fire makes it so that you’re bound to miss some of those shots, and meanwhile the other guy shooting your stomach doesn’t care about spraying because the shots will still land within the time it takes to kill.

The game is overall an improvement from when I last played months ago, but I would still like to see a patch where we can finally test slower rate of fire.

What’s your machine spec and game config?
