Dirty Bomb Trivia

(RADICALEWOK) #1

I’ve been doing some research to find out the voice actor for Bushwhacker. Through my search I found an old thread http://forums.dirtybomb.nexon.net/discussion/13851/voice-actor-credits/p2

In here someone links an image to the VA of sparks:

So Sparks’ name used to be Eleanor? Also is her fraudulent name of Jeff a nod to @MissMurder (Second of her name, Daughter to Capetian Crossfire and The Destroyer of Pizza) who has cosplayed as her?

I also found an old thread where Smooth refers to Bushwhacker (Turret Engineer) as Clive “T-Rat” Fitzmorgan and Lisa “Proxy” Wells (Mine Engineer).

http://forums.warchest.com/showthread.php/35010-DIRTY-BOMB-UPDATE-Version-16895

Also from what I can see the only other Mercs with full names are Fletcher “Fletcher” Christian and Garnell “Stoker” Corjin.

Anyway before I get even more lost down the rabbit hole does anyone know any other fun, hidden or lost Dirty Bomb trivia?

Also back to my original search, is the guy who VAs Bushwhacker the same guy who voices the Texan mob in the Division who yells about turrets, because they sound the same and that guy must just think every game has turrets in it now.

Huh, he’s name really is Fletcher? I thought he was just being a smartass

I’ve got a long list of Dirty Bomb trivia I’m dying to show @kAndyREW
Check some of the ones he has done out.

Did you know that Stoker’s bombs have “451” printed on them, this is a reference to the dystopian novel Fahrenheit 451, in which books are banned and are burned down by the fire department, who have flamethrowers.

The number is a reference to the temperature a book will combust at.

Wasn’t there a different nametag on Stoker himself? With a more British name?

I believe it was Harold during the beta, then changed to the one OP mentioned.

I recall surname “Sands” being used in some high-crowded areas like subway terminals, as “warning” broadcast for personell without causing crowd panic or similar. As in if there was a fire under control in let’s say personell’s area, but employees around the large area are to be informed of it by PA system something along the lines “Harold Sands, Harold Sands, please proceed to info point 1”.

Not the best example but core idea sounded realistic enough for me first time I heard it. Besides fire does quite fit Stoker. First name however, no idea why Harold.

I never knew the female commander voice is played by the same actress that plays Ellaria Sand in Game of Thrones. That’s pretty significant!

EDIT: And Rhino/Sawbonez’s VA played Hydroflax in one of the latest Doctor Who episodes. Neat!

Kind of like how some places use “Doctor Allcome” as to not scare patients when calling for all doctors to come to a specific area?

We are gonna know the name of Stoker at the end of the rotation anyway

No idea, as I live in middle of woods under a rock that is hidden in a barrel stuck in a cave and have never heard of this kind of “do-panic-the-crowd” calls ._.
