when not using steam it uses 45,2 MB ram and ~0,2% CPU

I sure hope you are not using Firefox or Chrome to browse the web.

Or any browser, almost every single browser takes as much or more resources… And steam uses approx. 25 mb… not 45…

Steam is itself a browser. And a pretty crappy one IMO. I’m glad I’m not forced to use it.

Oh wait.

I want to play Dirty Bomb on my telephone. Pretty please.

You can. Stream your Nvidia to an Android Moonlight client.

I think you can even play DB on your Porsche.

Can we also have a version that runs on MS-DOS? Because i really dont like Windows, uses too many resources, you never know what its really doing etc.

I know you’re trying to be funny and sarcastic, but Steam is exactly trying to get rid of Windows for that with SteamOS. And that’s the real irony of it.

Last i checked, SteamOS is designed as an alternative to running a full blown windows based OS, for pcs being used as glorified consoles (attached to a tv in your living room). They’re not trying to edge in on Microsofts market with a fully fledged day to day OS afaik.

If i had a rig under a big tv purely for gaming, and was scrubby enough to think a controller is a viable FPS control method, i’d be up for giving a Steam OS a try.

Ahah. You did pre-order one of those steam machine, did not you ?
Pretty much everything steam/valve has done on their own since dota 2 and cs:go is total garbage.
SteamOS, controller and everything surrounding this is just a massive example on how money can reduce creativity into crap.

SteamOS is a linux based OS. Any Linux is ready for gaming with OpenGL or Vulkan, which is a formidable alternative to DirectX. Unreal Engine 4 supports it. Dirty Bomb 2 may run one day with it.

You resumed my sentiment about Steam, Bernard. And I dont preorder things. I know what I get when preordering.
