Dirty Bomb player base is decreasing rapidly

@Beryl totally agree. Surprisingly I made a similar post in a thread identical to this about 3 months ago and I’ve never seen more dislikes come through my way. People seem to disagree that idiots are the cause of half the balance problems apparently.

You’re 100% right though.

You get a team of often even high levels who do the most retarded crap like on Chapel attack they have 3 x Vassili’s, no engineers, a Phantom running around doing his own thing at the back of the map trying to spawn camp and a Nader who will just constantly rush + die and try to martyrdom people all game. Like, common sense alert. Get an engineer, have some medics and stop being so brain dead.

Some times it even takes just one player for people to blame balance. The amount of games I have where mid game on Stopwatch the enemy team will be like “omg these teams are so stacked” & “this balance is total bs” when I am on 25,000xp with 60 kills while the rest of my team are on like 2500-5000 scores with less than 10 kills. I can sit in the same spot for an entire half while no one tries to flank me or take me out and they just die the same way over and over and then they blame team stacking… because one guy is carrying the entire team… honestly I don’t even think some people know what stacking is.

Basically most of the pub games I play these days will involve 4-5 people rage quitting and a whole bunch of people complaining about balance. Even if my entire team is full of potatoes getting less than 5 kills, apparently my team is still stacked. I honestly think some people just think that when they’re losing it’s because the teams are stacked, and take nothing else into consideration.

Rage quitters though f me man. People have no persistence these days. You can pretty much guarantee any level 10 Proxy who just non-stop rushes the objective without shooting their gun and gets killed 3 times without getting a kill will have a vent about balance and rage quit. It makes me so mad because they’re doing the most silly crap, and getting angry about it.

Also, like you say, some people just don’t want to have to try to win.

I can guarantee almost every single time, the people on the enemy team who I’m stomping that are complaining about balance - the next game if I am on their team and we stomp the other team twice as hard as they were stomped in the game before, it is no problem at all. Because they are on the winning team now, everyone on the losing team just needs to “stfu and play” and at the end of the game they’ll even write “gg” and constantly f2 the shuffle votes.

It’s pathetic. Complain and whinge non stop when they are losing, even if its a reasonably close game, but if they are winning or manage to be on the team doing the stomp, there’s no problem at all “gg ez”

If someone is low class enough to berate new players just trying the game, and over level 100 to boot(what is life?), that shines poorly upon them and just illuminates their level of maturity.

The newbs deserve a chance to actually learn the game - which, shocker, is not going to happen if they cannot even leave the spawn.

I started this game last week, have out 20 hours in already and got to say I’ve experienced none of this thus far. I’ve had a few games that went quickly due to a overpowering team (been in both sides) which is expected in any game. I tend to do well in most games, haven’t been witness of many players fill out dominating and as a result making gameplay fun. As far as the maps and mercs go, we could use more. I do enjoy the various setups of the classes and not sure why you don’t like them. I think 1-2 more maps would be a nice addition. To get to the point, if your friends think it’s unbalanced there’s a simple fix; don’t play. Plenty of games that are some what similar they can try. I’ve played about 15 different multiplayer shooters and this has been by far my favorite.

Many people don’t care if an issue isn’t affecting them. “Newbs complain, it’s their fault that they’re newbs and need to get good”.

problem is, some FNGs don’t even bother doing the tutorials… and the tutorial doesn’t teach merc synergies in team play. Noobs often pick Vassili because they honestly think they can contribute to team effort by OSKilling with that MOA or Fel-1X… good luck with the PDP-11.

Sub level 5s on non-level restricted servers crying out for medics/ammo when they’re half way across the map are a pain to look after.

man, that happens way to offten for me, it just makes me sad that there are such a retards in our world

If you think CMM will fix team stacks, then you’re in for a big letdown.

Played other online game with 50K players, and casual match making didn’t fix team stacks at all. No matter which multiplayer I’ve played in the past, nothing and absolutely nothing has fixed team stack.
All I can say is: Life’s a beach.

(jubilantManatee) #30

Beach map incoming?

(The_N00Ba) #31

kind of want to fight in a mall honestly…

(TheStrangerous) #32

And I want in Hampton Court Palace’s hedge maze.
Or any level from this game set in london.

Oh, the childhood.
Because we need more reasons for people to play proxy right?

EDIT: actually this would be genius as its own gamemode. If you can get out of the maze without tripping any mines, you win.

Give me a Free for all or Conquest game mode

Considering that you can glitch mines into the wall where the drug samples are stored in Bridge, it wouldn’t be that hard to find some way to cheese it, like putting a mine on top of the hedges just out of view.

(Boory Marks) #36

@The_N00B I want to fight in a mall so I can refill on explosive eggs at the supermarket and grab some beer

I played 2 matches today.
First game I steamrolled some newbs with a lvl 28 in my team who was assigned by the game as a 4th player against 3 enemies.
Why would the game even try and get people of similar level and playtime in different teams? Hell no, let’s put them together to punish some new players.
I won. I hated it. I felt bad.
The second one I got into a team of 3vs4 with 2 newbs against 2 people of my level and experience.
One left on our side. We had to play a 4vs2 and noone from the enemy team spent a though about switching.
I quit the game.
The problem is that players are unable to decide things rationally when it comes to balancing. It’s the games job to balance. And the game’s failing at it. And Public matchmaking will fail aswell if it’s ever gonna be implemented in 2017 or so.
I liked the game. I enjoyed the game. And it’s sad to see it going down the drain. But hey, people can keep telling in every thread where someone complains about the balance in this game: “Public matchmaker will come out really soon and it will be so good and all games will be balanced! I promise!”

the reason the level 28 joined your team is because the game doesnt look at level to determine if the joining player goes to attack or defense. attack always gets the joining player when its even numbers (1v1, 2v2, 3v3, 4v4 etc.)

(Amerika) #39

That’s the thing. A lot of people expect every single game to always be 100% balanced across the board. I’ve made so many posts on this topic in regards to why it’s never possible, how the balance system currently works. why high levels can be sorted together (because a lot of high levels are not even mediocre in skill), people don’t notice team swaps and they don’t know that joiners can throw off balance too. You throw in people not playing correctly to win or carrying about playing a good role, some people play just to waste time or screw around, some want to melee only. Some are drinking heavily or other things while listening to music loudly. Tons of things throw off balance.

But a lot of people, for reasons I’ll never be able to understand I think, simply don’t seem to understand and accept that as a fact of gaming. Especially when it comes to public servers.
