Dirty Bomb Mythbuster series?

(kAndyREW) #1

Hey guys,

kAndyREW here… I’m thinking of doing a compilation of common myths that aren’t actually true in Dirty Bomb.

One of them I can think of right now is that people say the EV will go faster with more people near it… which apparently actually isn’t true unless you’re talking about very specific parts of certain maps… (haven’t tested this yet)

Anyone got any more of things like these?

Thanks

It used to be, as of last week that EV thing was removed.

If you are needing a cast for the series, I am able.

According to the patch notes that only applies to Bridge for some reason.

'-The EV on Bridge now moves at a fixed speed regardless of the number of escorting players ’

@kAndyREW Sorry man, your first ‘myth’ isnt a myth tbh. It was a game mechanics ! (Which was removed in latest patch…)

uh… why??? Wouldn’t SD want players on Attack to huddle? Attack has alot of flanks on Bridge, while Def can really only go straight into battle after the EV turns the corner. Not to mention on the bridge, Def can only get on through one small stair well. I feel like this will be un-done fast, once players learn not to huddle.

Em… NO, you still have 2 options…

1 around the corner (far side in the direction of EV movement) and straight on through stairs , you can run up the stairs n flank if you want !

Also there is another spot on the far side, 1st floor of the building. You can throw nades, marks n stuff from there

Still, attack has easy access to both of those. It’s not like those spots are behind Def lines, infact, Def comes in behind attack lines. Now that everything moves the same with 1 player, attack can easily position DPS players to block off def.

Or would it? This would be a good one to test. Is it harder for attack if everyone is bunched, or easier?

Why would they remove it? Why not just cap it?

1- slow move speed
2- medium move speed
3- fast move speed

3 - still fast, doesn’t get any faster

If two snipers shoot at the same time, they will both will die.

You want me to come up with more similar to this?

Yeah I don’t get that, because it’s definitely been changed on Chapel as well.

(Gi.Am) #12

They changed it for Chapel a while ago (tho I don’t think there where Patchnotes on it). They just hadn’t for Bridge yet.

It reduces confusion, enough people have a hard time to grasp the concept that you have to be close to the EV to make it move already. And there was griefing from defenders that didn’t know about it and called hacks.

It is a buff for defenders (both on chapel and bridge) the EV with enough players around it moved very fast. Giving the defenders less oportunity to stop it. It was possible to push the EV past a perfectly thrown Airstrike. On Bridge specifically this could mean without a engineer or him being held off just a little bit that the EV gets past the barrier without it getting up. Now you have to fight for it to prevent it (or the defenders don’t care at all).
