Dirty Bomb merc design: VYMPEL (with art work)

My merc design intention only for share and discuss the possibility of new dirty bomb merc and game play style, details like HP, damage are not consider join the design.

VYMPEL is a Russian female sniper, the identity it’s unknow but from photos and images on TV and news paper can tell she is working in the Russian Embassy in Britain, after the attack happen in London she disappear join the action of evacuate the Russian ambassador, today in the war between Jackal and CDA there are information about people see her on the field, but her purpose and reason why stay in London is unknow.

Weapon and Skill:
VYMPEL is a sinper class merc, her symbolic weapon its a high caliber sniper rifle, also VUMPEL specialist other semi-automatic sniper rifle.

VYMPEL carry with special ammunition that can reload in to the gun by put in the gun chamber straight away, the Skill it’s call “AT-AP” (Anti - tank Armor piercing) and it can use once after every cooldown time. the AT-AP are very effective against EV, auto gun turret, second objective thx to the high penetration value, it can also break through some walls and doors to hit the target behind.

Idea of design:
VYMPEL is a idea of sinper class merc with different type of support, with out detection skill VYMPEL can not mark target for team mates, but she can support the team by bring extra damage to the mission objective and making opportunities when the team difficult to break the enemy camping formation.

The ability doesn’t even seem that bad compared to others that I’ve seen.

Penetrating rounds don’t seem that bad, but without a spotting ability of some sort, I’d say that your chances of actually hitting somebody through a wall are slim to none.

I had a similar idea, but the rifle was mounted on a turret. I think she just needs a spotting ability and it’ll be good.

I think thats more of a bonus feature or if you feel confident on where an enemy is. I see its main focus being on EV and generators.

Due to it being piercing would bullets do extra damage to players as it does objectives?

in my drawing I use the first one which is the “APDS” type, but in game you no going to see the bullet any way so it not big deal what it look like

I enjoy the idea of a sniper which uses anti-tank fire support type shots. This makes the character useful on all maps outside of ones requiring a delivery.
HOWEVER: I dislike the idea of shooting through walls. It makes the ability hard to combat: especially if combined with a spotter character like Vassili.

Nice artwork, though. Well done, there.

Uranium bullets:

Hitting humans as normal sniper rifle, but on hard objects they make a little explotion, really damaging EV or deployables, not much radius… works like Nader’s skill (4 rounds, reloads over time). For recon, it could have an alarm for when someone starts repairing the EV or puts a deployable on her sight

im fine with the armor piercing ammunition. just one thing to balance it out is to decrease the dmg of the shot when it travels through a surface

I hate to do this, but to put this into in-game language, Vympel is essentially an Aimee-like merc with a high damage, material penetrating Felix, with a lighter version of the PDP or a more reliable Dreiss.

Which is fine, except… she’s slightly too close to Aimee.

If you want them, here are some suggestions to make her more gameplay viable…

  1. Make her slower (than other Snipers). Justification: She’s weighed down by having to carry around two Snipers.
  2. Give her higher HP to compensate for her lack of speed.
  3. Not sure if she should have 4 weapons (ability, primary, secondary, melee). If so, I recommend mp400, m9, and selbstadt or Simeon. If the ability is not an ability weapon per se, then having a merc with 2 primary weapons a melee would be VERY interesting (and different).

I’m gonna have to defer to somebody else for perks, they’re not my speciality :slight_smile:

Recommended specs: 120-130 HP, 380-400 sprint.
