Dirty Bomb makes GFX card run hot

(mauveDime) #1

Ive got an nvidia 780 in my system, and I noticed that when I was playing Dirty Bomb that a lot of heat was coming out of my computer - I ran GPU-Z and found that during gameplay, the graphics card temperature was running at about 72°C, with spikes up to 80°C! The GPU load was almost constantly 100%.

I found out that switching the game from fullscreen to borderless windowed lessened my GPU load to about 40%, and the card never reached above 54°C. If you’re having the same issue, try this! (And devs, do you think you can address this issue?)

Hi, if i doesn’t lock my fps in the dirty bomb menu, my gtx 980 msi start to yelling! Making noise.

Not having the game in exclusive mode makes it laggy as fuck though.

I have the same issue with an older GTX (670) if I don’t lock my FPS. I used the following guide to do so, and it helped my issue - perhaps it’ll help yours. How To Lock Your FPS

80 Degrees is totally fine, nothing to worry about. And if you are worried, just lock the frame rate.
