Dirty Bomb ladder, serverlist and clanlist

Remember the days of Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory and splatterladder/trackbase sites? It was so much more practical to use sl.gamelauncher than in-game serverlist. What if SD implement similar system to this forum?

Features:

  1. Clan registration and contact details. Currently it’s difficult to find suitable clan for yourself, because you dont know if they have active members, discord or own servers.
  2. Ladders for players and clans. (Even if it didnt correllate with actual skill, it was still fun to browse)
  3. Tracking players. See when and where they play, even with your mobile phone. Did you see a familiar nickname who you want to be friend with. But because you/they disconnected, didnt have chance to add friend?
  4. Count hours for players and clans. Again, few matches ago there was this great teamplayer, but now he/she is gone. Where did he/she come from, what is his/her experience?
  5. Browse servers and see their settings. There will be so many different options, that you need to choose these settings beforehand.
  6. Track famous players and see where are they from. What country is in top of the list?
  7. Internet browser based launcher (sl.gamelauncher). Do you want quickly join directly to certain server, without spending time in menu or steam?

I know faceit is coming, but does it have all these great features?

If DB had a larger playerbase maybe, but there are only a handful of active clans at the moment, and most of them aren’t exactly super competitive, so ultimately tracking them wouldn’t really be worth the effort of implementing it. I’m not sure how large W:ET’s population was at its peak, but even at DB’s average from last year of around 2000-5000 I’d say it’s still probably not worth it.

Tracking players would also go against some of what SD has tried to do by hiding levels. If you know someone is a DB master, you’re probably not going to want to fight against them

Is there a list of active clans somewhere? Trackbase system could list them. What if one of the reasons why people dont play, is because there is no similar system? Even if ET have much less concurrent players than DB, still these sites are online. I believe SD does not want to hide levels, you can see them when someone shoots you. How difficult it can be to hide levels? How difficult it can be to implement this archaic interface, that was used in ancient game?

Well I do. Actually sometimes I enjoy even getting stomped. But I can see why someone does not like that. You didnt have levels in ET, unless you were playing those xpsave servers that got reset in time. Only way to know their rank was going to those internet pages and see yourself. It’s not like you see them in-game like in Dirty Bomb. Some people chance their nicknames daily, so they can stay out of radar. I suppose similar problem was also with nickname that was used by multiple people. This system was created, so you could identify players. You could see if someone was stealing your nickname and reserve a clantag for your own community.

I believe trackbase and splatterladder are in hands of community. What if SD just give tools to us, and community can do work for them? No precious working time gets spent.

No, you won’t, because it won’t teach you much helpfull thingies, if any, at all. But you’ll surely want to see them replays, to see if they are only low-fpsing and/or lagging/highpinging/lagswitching/lowrating, or if they really know how to aim and/or position better than you. So plx stop talking shit :stuck_out_tongue:. Simply believe an old-time, spawn-mine-laying, battlemedic-protected, garand-engineer, obviously nowadays beeing one of the better aimers (what a pitty). (but the hand-eye-coordiantion-thingy of the three-years-old, main-customer-population, seems to be kinda app-dependent)

If enemy team is spawnkilling us, then it will be great reminder that you need to use different tactic and/or mercs. Dirty Bomb is about choices, because lack of communication, some people are training their weakest mercs rather than playing their most effective merc. It’s much more difficult to get spawnkilled by un-coordinated team. Using spawn protection and revives require skill. My point is, if there is no rational clan registration, game gets more unbalanced. There could be full team of claners against solo players and odds to win that arent great. Current system does not encourage people joining clans and learn coordination inside their team. It will be more difficult to find counterplay in un-coordinated team, if you havent played in coordinated team.

Great idea I loved TrackBase and Spatterladder!! You could have a clan page to advertise your servers and clan…People could see how many members you had and how active they were!!

And the levels and ladder were not very accurate as included both FF and no FF servers and a whole host of different settings but still fun to see where u ranked in the world!!

Not mee… I like to play against the good players…even if I only kill them once its a VICTORY!!

Apparently that’s not a sentiment held by most of the community unfortunately, since SD felt the need to hide names from ranked lobbies and levels from everything lol
