guys some points to bring up:
- revealing what the tests are about would spoil the new content - how can devs test new content in the PTS without giving away what the new content is?
- revealing what the tests are would cause major amounts of armchair-whine. Remember the days when patch notes were released prior to the patch? huge amounts of whine and flamewars about stuff people didn’t even had a hands on

About that, They are under a Non disclosure agreement. So if Devs learns someone leaked stuffs the leaker is probably gonna get banned from the PTS or might even be the game but i doubt it. And he will never be considered again for anything. They could even just stop the PTS.
i know, i was referring to the claim that there should be a summary of PTS every week for the general audience.
For all your other point. I find none of those of any worth. Picking only people they knew and stuff like that is exactly something elitist. I bet lots of people were happy when they saw the title and got turned down when they saw the way of picking those lucky souls.
There is plenty of people who would have been super glad to help and get involved in that while respecting the NDA. But they were immediatly eliminated and given no chance just because they arent on the forum for as long as others or because they are not forum rat or some “community figure”. Thats absolutely not fair for all those people who are as much if not more devoted to the game.
But well i can’t say Im surprised again.
Im not gonna start debating on that apparently its just a matter of differents principles and values.
this is not a democracy. Its game design. Its not about ‘fair’ - this is about making a game, not about making players feel good about themselves as far as game development, lol.
Are you seriously suggesting that a small PTS group would require some type of extensive casting of the entire DB playerbase? say, a basic 1on1 tournament, and then a db-lore pop-quiz, and then some psychology tests to ensure people are up to the task, and a 2 year probation period to screen for lazy people? Its also easy to say ’ i want in’ without anything to back it up (not saying thats you), once the feedback deadlines are due.
In my view SD chose people they know because of TRUST. There have been leaks of information under NDA on numerous occasions throughout the development of DB. I can understand why SD is careful with the group of people they reveal some ‘secrets’ too - aren’t you? I can also understand why they first reach out to people who have proven to be valuable, whether through insightful feedback, extensive knowledge of the game’s backend, or even laying out hard cash way back when, as founders.
