Hello one and all,
We are back in action for always on servicewith no more planned wipes AND we come bearing gifts – that shiny Obsidian Loadout Card is waiting for you if you played during our last testing period so get in game and claim it, but wait there’s more! Those of you who participated in our Dirty Bomb test sessions on Steam between January 6th and January 20th this year, have also been granted 30,000 in-game credits to help unlock your favorite Merc or pick up some new Loadout Cards.
There have also been some pretty cool changes and additions to the game- for all the nitty-gritty-dirty details check out the patch notes .
Now that Dirty Bomb is back for good we’re sure you have some burning questions- read the FAQ below and see if we’ve covered that for ya:

Q. Will there be any more wipes?
A. No more wipes are planned- so time to really start getting those credits and earning your Mercs and loot
Q: Is Dirty Bomb still in Closed Beta?
A: It is indeed! We’ll be continuing to bring improvements and new content to Dirty Bomb even after release, but while we’re in Closed Beta, you may spot a few more bugs than would otherwise be the case. Guns that oink, or Slender Man making the odd appearance, aren’t entirely usual at this stage in development. For the most part though, you’ll be able to run around having a blast with your Mercs.
Q: Is there an NDA in place? Can I publish videos and stream Dirty Bomb?
A: There’s no longer an NDA in place, want to stream or create Dirty Bomb videos? We’d love to see you do just that. Don’t forget to ping us on Twitter, Facebook or the Forum to celebrate your stuff!
Q. Is Dirty Bomb going to be pay-to-win?
A. Dirty Bomb will be free-to-win, meaning players who chose not to spend any money will not be at a disadvantage to those who do. There will be options to buy items, but anything that has an impact on performance can be unlocked without spending even one penny. For example, while we’ll have two free Mercs at all times, and a free rotation of additional Mercs, some Mercs also will be available to purchase with Credits (earned) or currency (paid).
Q. Is Dirty Bomb still free-to-play?
A. Dirty Bomb is free-to-play and, more importantly, free-to-win.
Q. Will you be sending out any more keys?
A. We certainly will! In fact we will be sending out keys to sign-ups weekly -every Thursday during closed beta starting April 2nd. Sweet right? Also be sure to check our social channels often for giveaways and the like and of course sign up here for the best chance at getting access.
Q. What ways will new players be able to join the closed beta now?
A. We will be sending out keys to sign ups ( see above) as well as giving away keys on our social channels. We also now offer a starter pack. Details on that here: http://store.steampowered.com/app/355730
Q. How long is this phase going to last?
A. The game will be up and playable 24/7 from here on out (aside from maintenance of course.)Yay!
Q. What Mercs are available right now? When will we be getting new ones?
A. Aura and Skyhammer will always be unlocked and you will have the following Mercs available to purchase with credits:
- Proxy
- Vassili
- Sawbonez
- Arty
- Fragger
We’ve got plenty more Mercs on the way, and the free Merc rotation will allow you to trial new Mercs before recruiting them to your team! Fragger and Proxy will be the two in the free rotation this time around so definitely spend some time with them.

. Was the obsidian crate really random ? I got that proxy loadout I was looking for !
