Dirty Bomb HUD Mockup

(en2ie) #21

I like this, it would be awesome to have something similar on the respawn hud (the one when your waiting for a revive or dead) - rather than it being permanent and adding additional clutter.

We share the same dream

This is really cool. A question to the devs here: UE3 or at least UT3 supports HUD opacity and colour customization, any chance we can get that too?

Even the first UT had this

can we have a menu like this too?

(Pytox) #23

@NeoRussia, I now think they make the hud using Scaleform.

I thought DB might eventually be using a custom coded HTML5 “version” of Scaleform for HUD thingies.

(Tankey) #25

I vouch for everything mentioned in this topic. Those features will increase DB so much! This makes the customization so much easier even for the new ones among us. I really really hope they’re going to include it in DB.

I think something like this in the launcher would be awesome (3 hours work ^^)

  • Right click on a HUD element for alignment and distance settings (You can’t edit those yet)
  • Drag elements to position them
  • Enable the “Snap to grid” option to make the elements snap after dragging them
  • The yellow lines represent the alignments
  • The “Generate config” and “Upload config” are there in case SplashDamage isn’t going to create a HUD editor:wink:, so they don’t work (YET!).

Neverwinter has something like that, +1

I like it. Put it in the game

Weapon section has too much redundant info.

I know I’m being patronising when I post this image, but really:

Hmm lets take a look how you can tweak your HUD in ET, thanks to some mods.

You can do this already for some years. I would love to see it in DB as well, but I wish we can have mods again in DB. Man so many cool things were added. We will miss them in DB if we don’t get mod tools :frowning:

Mods / Custom content added so many cool things to ET, that for me personally DB is almost in every aspect a big step backwards from W:ET at this moment. And I would love to see DB being better than W:ET.

Just from a visual comparison with most games I’ve played this HUD was really quite clean. Even if I didn’t play it I would still agree.

(Dthy) #34

Since we’re on HUD’s, I’d like the option to remove the weapon model when aiming in (or in total if that floats you boat)

(tokamak) #35

DB’s HUD suffers from Brink artefacts and that HUD was made for consoles.

We simply forgot how small and subtle the elements can be and still be vivid on a pc monitor.

(DB Genome editor) #36

Roger that. The indications on Image’s mockup are still totally legible with the pic scaled down to 70%. Just that would reduce the clutter a lot without removing any info.

This. Please.

I think the obj List and status can be combined into one, I don’t think you need both. But other than that it looks great, Also Mustangs idea for the movable UI is great. +1 to OP and mustang.
