That one should go to CSGO. They have nice camera angles, good info during matches, good commentators and (unlike League Of Legends) has action from the start.
League Of Legends = 30 minutes of build up and 10-15 of actual PVP…
CSGO = short rounds with action happening all the time.
As for World Of Tanks… Who the f*ck came up with the idea to add that game to the categorie!!!
Yeah, right. A grindfest. Hell, even compared to games like LoL, unlocking mercs here is easy as hell.[/quote]
Agreed, I’m sitting on 200k right now… own everyone via credits. It really doesn’t feel like a grind if you are just playing the game to play the game and have fun. Credits tend to come in really quickly and painlessly.
Dirty Bomb is easily the best F2P game I’ve played and is even super fair about merc costs and merc rotations allowing people to try before they buy. I try to recommend this game to everyone.
If you don’t want to vote it for best f2p game, that’s totally cool - and I think you’re saying you understand it isn’t p2w, but can see why others might think so.
That said, I hate that people seem to actually feel like this with games these days. It’s a free to play game - obviously not everything will be available from day one. Pay to win doesn’t mean “the game has the option to buy stuff” - until you can buy power with cash, a game isn’t P2W.
Can it seem grindy at first? Sure. But anyone thinking they’re losing fights because they don’t have X merc is kidding themselves and looking for excuses. Reaching for the p2w label is something that seems to happen far too easily these days.
I voted DB not because of bias, well ok maybe a little, but damn the other options sucked. Heroes of the Storm is just a toned down version of League and DOTA, and the other options? No way.
It’s either going to be HOTS or Dirty Bomb, that much is clear. I’m just afraid it’s going to be HOTS because… well… it’s Blizzard and their fans love everything they create + it’s a huge fanbase.

That was my thought as well. DB doesnt have that traction yet. ( But I hope it will !)
There is also a time frame factor in determining f2p vs p2w. Ive got tought thta lesson in a hard way by Ubisucks GRP.
When it takes free player 6-8 months to get anywhere near, in terms of equipment, to a wallet warriors(and thats just in one category), with developers impeding player progress every step of the way, trying to make him spend real cash or be repeatedly stomped.
With only way to make money is by relentlessly grinding losing matches one by one, since same free player is constantly matched against those same wallet warriors, with no alternatives.
And with wallet warriors having access from get go to highest tiers of equipment, allowing them to bypass all artificial barricades set up for free players(with sole purpose to make them pay) and each next equipment tier being simply better, in terms of all stats, than previous one.
Or huge pricing differences when it comes to earnable ingame currency and premium one that is available only for real money, that in turn allow far easier access to “special” armory, where all the stuff is simply better than its common alternatives, regardless of equipment tier.
So, while technically free player can gain access to all the same stuff as wallet warriors, eg f2p, it would take years for him to actually get there. Years of meticulous savings and micromanagement of his game currency budget. With requirement to pass out on all the secondary options, if he wannt to get anywhere on his lifetime. All while being relentlessly raped by a p2w “pros” who dropped 50 bucks on the game and have access to all the best gear, bypassing whole grind entirely. Its still p2w in this case.
The fact Dirty Bomb won this is a sign to me that the site is really not that popular. Blizzard’s army of fans would have steamrolled the vote if they even knew about it imo. Still, any publicity is nice for us - and “our” game really is pretty fucking good
